Congratulations on a healthy baby! Hope the birth went safely and that you are recovering well.

I just hate surrogacy in case you can't tell

OP posts:
lifeisabeachsometimes · 01/07/2018 21:07

Gariguette I can't talk to you anymore. I don't think you have any idea of the pain you are casually inflicting. If you are doing this puroposefully you need help urgently and should not be caring for two small children.

LangCleg · 01/07/2018 21:08

LangCleg I was being sarcastic....

Oops! Apologies!

LangCleg · 01/07/2018 21:12

Maybe it's the general level of entitled, aggressive bitchiness that now passes for feminism in the UK.

Wow. I sincerely hope you are not passing on this seething rage about women to your children.

FermatsTheorem · 01/07/2018 21:13

lifeisabeach - Flowers

I think that poster knows exactly what they are doing, because causing pain is exactly what they intend to do, and they're getting off on doing it. FWIW I have reported the point in the thread at which they "jumped the shark" in terms of clearly entering fantasy land, and hopefully MN will act. (I have deliberately not reported the spectacularly misogynistic post earlier, because I think it's really important to leave that sort of bile to stand, so that lurkers on the thread can see the sort of shit we're up against - not necessarily as feminists, but simply as women who want to be treated as fully-fledged members of the human race.)

AngryAttackKittens · 01/07/2018 21:15

Well this thread is a horrorshow. Would be great if the trolling comments from angry men got deleted as quickly as anything about "gender" that's considered to be going off piste does.

LangCleg · 01/07/2018 21:16

I think that poster knows exactly what they are doing, because causing pain is exactly what they intend to do, and they're getting off on doing it.

So many red flags, I've lost count.

Hoppinggreen · 01/07/2018 21:16

gariguette welcome to our world
Women put up with that kind of shit so often many of them don’t even bother mentioning it
It doesn’t make us all hate men or want to eliminate them from the reproductive process.
This is a feminist board, people who hate women are not welcome

NotTakenUsername · 01/07/2018 21:19

Where are people getting their information that the baby has been taken from his mother already?

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2018 21:23

Maybe it's the general level of entitled, aggressive bitchiness that now passes for feminism in the UK.

Can I ask why you are on the feminism boards then? Cos everyone you seek it's REALLY enlightening as to what you are all about.

Lashing out in this way is not a healthy nor normal response.

But you know that right. You are just looking for women to reaffirm your beliefs and justify your behaviour further.

Rather than resolve any issues you have by abdicating all responsibility for them through a game of 'who can I blame'.

Nice chip btw.

LunaTrap · 01/07/2018 21:23

zsazsa Do you support the right of rich couples using surrogates somewhere like India then? Is it ok if people in poverty sell their organs too?

FermatsTheorem · 01/07/2018 21:23

That poster is most emphatically not welcome to my world. He can take a hike as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who hates women so blatantly is not someone I want within a million miles of me.

lifeisabeachsometimes · 01/07/2018 21:24

FermatsTheorem Thank you for your post and support, and I entirely agree. I can't think he used the word the rape unknowingly.

We will keep our composure.

The thread has been derailed by gariguette and I hope he will be happy to know I have gone on to live a full and happy life (without the bitterness and hatred he appears to carry around) and now I am in a position where I can be a positive influence in this area. Transformational in some ways.

Now lets talk about the real problem of commercial surrogacy, which is why we are all here.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 01/07/2018 21:25

Nice chip btw

Just the one?

Its a fucking 'large appetite' size pack!!!!

Gacapa · 01/07/2018 21:25

Well I’m assuming he has been taken from his mother because...well...why not? That’s why the baby exists. Why wouldn’t he have been removed from his mother?

Some of us might say there’s never a good time. They obviously don’t.

Ereshkigal · 01/07/2018 21:30

I just don't know what has made me less and less sympathetic towards women as I get older

Goodness, men here are not normally so honest as you. Tell me what brings you to Mumsnet, an overwhelmingly female forum?

LangCleg · 01/07/2018 21:32

Anyway.

Buying children is wrong.

Altruistic surrogacy in very limited circumstances might be ok.

But once again, for the hard of hearing:

Buying children is wrong.

NotTakenUsername · 01/07/2018 21:33

Well I’m assuming he has been taken from his mother because...well...why not? That’s why the baby exists. Why wouldn’t he have been removed from his mother?

It was just a question because regardless of views on surrogacy it’s quite barbaric to remove a child so soon after birth. I just wanted to know if that is factual or speculative.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/07/2018 21:34

Children are not cars or toys, one should not be able to purchase them. They're people.

Floorplan · 01/07/2018 21:35

My feeling is that, to a neonate , their mother is part of their body almost. All the biochemical evidence suggests this. It is unhealthy to break off this mutualistic relationship which has evolved.

NotTakenUsername · 01/07/2018 21:39

Floorplan in that sense, at what stage of child development would you consider adoption could become a permission option for the mother?

NotTakenUsername · 01/07/2018 21:40

Permissible*

UpstartCrow · 01/07/2018 21:46

When men loathe women with that much passion, what happens if their rentawomb conceives a girl?

LemonJello · 01/07/2018 21:48

Well it is interesting to note that the misogynists have all had boys...

Ereshkigal · 01/07/2018 21:50

When men loathe women with that much passion, what happens if their rentawomb conceives a girl?

Yes I had that thought.

AngryAttackKittens · 01/07/2018 21:50

In the event that they're telling the truth let's all be thankful that they're not raising girls, eh?
