Morning!

OP posts:
SPOFS · 26/06/2018 10:31

I haven't had any strikes yet. Then again, I haven't posted much at all. I prefer the new place.

Angryresister · 26/06/2018 11:18

Still here despite a post in AIBU in which one word has been redacted...I was offered alternatives. I was particularly careful not to mention anything about who is mainly doing the shutting up...but it seems we all know ..how surprising. Thanks for the support from regulars here.

Have I missed something ? New place?

ImpYCelyn · 26/06/2018 11:40

😁 AAK and Weezol 🧀

Popchyk · 26/06/2018 11:43

Can someone PM me with a link to the new place?

Thank you

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 26/06/2018 11:51

Still here, but only just. Received a strike last week for what I thought was a pretty neutral post on AIBU about you-know-what issues and who exactly could be a danger to women and girls in changing-rooms et cetera. I daresay the perverts and predators mentioned wouldn't have been the ones complaining. I'm getting pretty fed up actually, and could be begging the appropriate person for where the new place is quite soon.

FloralBunting · 26/06/2018 11:55

Eh-up me ducks.

Still here. Interesting conversation with my DP and son. DP and I were animatedly discussing whether women have a biological disadvantage in the current set up of society. DP is a bit of a wind up merchant, and I am doggedly stubborn, so it was a passionate exchange, but punctuated with much laughter, so, all good.
DS attempts to placate the both of us with soothing words about everything being just opinion (he's 11), so when I went into the kitchen to make tea, he came with me and we discussed the errors of extreme relativism, and used some examples of his own life to point out systemic unfairness and that it was right to battle to change things.

All of which gave me a fresh burst of wind in my sails to keep coming back here and popping lie bubbles from they who shall not be named.

LaSqrrl · 26/06/2018 12:54

I see that thebewilderness got deleted again, possibly a third.
And spontaneous, multiple deletions here.

Not looking good. This policy has only been in force for around two weeks.
Working as planned I guess.

spontaneousgiventime · 26/06/2018 13:00

Here, two strikes and got my gonna fight this shit hat on firmer than ever. Play dirty with me, I fucking bite.

FloralBunting · 26/06/2018 13:46

Of course, I'm sure we're well aware that an Activist contingent version of the Other Place exists where they discuss tactics and probably have a spreadsheet to note down targets. And no doubt they monitor the daily registers to see who is taking flak.

2 strikes 1 life left

MnerXX · 26/06/2018 14:39

No strikes as yet but am only an occasional poster. What is this other place people are talking about?

HebeMumsnet · 26/06/2018 16:58

Afternoon, everyone. Just popping in very briefly to uncross what looks like a crossed wire.

As it says in Justine's statement we're talking about only a temporary suspension here in the first instance, not a three-strikes-and-you're-banned-for-good scenario.

It would really have to be an exceptional case for us to decide not to reinstate posting ability, though obviously we might look differently on a further suspension.

Hope that clarifies things a bit.

MNHQ

BeyondFemaleElitist · 26/06/2018 17:01

That is useful, thank you Hebe. Though clarification a bit earlier would have been nice

spontaneousgiventime · 26/06/2018 17:02

More amendments - how unusual Hmm

BesmirchingMotherhood · 26/06/2018 17:13

Did mnhq just comment on a thread they’d not been @ed on?

Datun · 26/06/2018 17:17

@HebeMumsnet

Hi Hebe, i'm taking this opportunity to draw attention to an email I'ce sent to which I've received no reply?

I wonder if you might look out for it.

Thanks.

Datun · 26/06/2018 17:17

Sorry, it's regarding deletions. It is relevant!

Amalfimamma · 26/06/2018 17:26

@HebeMumsnet

Thank you for the clarification. I too sent an email at around 11pm on the 15th of June asking for clarification and appealing my second strike.

As yet I have to receive a reply and am hoping it's just got lost in the post.

Im here.

I'm just a boring middle-aged mum and I was just beginning to post but the board doesn't feel like a safe mum-friendly place, and it's called Mumsnet? I've lost my voice before I even found it. The place seems riddled with heavy breathing trolls.

So I'm reading, and watching events unfold on the threads as the obvious trolls become more obvious, and more tiresome.

Really, they do their cause no favours, usurping and infiltrating with patterns of behaviour that could never be described as ladylike or gentlewomanly. Every post reaffirms who they are and what they cannot ever be.

Amalfimamma · 26/06/2018 18:47
