If their remains were found thousands of years later they would be identified as the sex that they were born as. You simply can't change your sex. How you decide to express yourself in terms of gender is different.

If we are talking about someone's sex and only their sex, then no, they can't change their reproductive systems they were born with.
They can of course change the appearance of their genitalia physically.

But they absolutely can decide their gender. And those whose biological sex and gender do not align and have the courage to live their lives as they feel comfortable are admirable in my opinion.

Humans cannot change their biological sex. A sex change is a legal fiction, possibly supported by cosmetic surgery. It doesnt change your biological sex, as you wont gain the fertility of your acquired legal gender.
