I just peak-trans'd again!

Who knew peak-transing could be like multiple orgasms?

Anyway just have to share my story. I was just removed from a feminist Facebook group after someone posted about Trans claiming “they are women” and I replied they weren’t.

Someone then called me a “terf” and “trash” and then > I < got removed despite the fact I didn't use any slurs, call anyone names, just stated that me agreeing that trans-women are women is tantamount to claiming 2+2=5 in Orwell's 1984.

I'd peak-trans'd long ago but this is the icing on my womanly (cause y'know, wimminz love to bake) cake.

Angry indeed Maryz

bd67th · 13/06/2018 09:46

@Maryz, I got the feeling that the US anti-choicers were treating Ireland as a repro rights proxy war.

Maryz · 13/06/2018 10:27

Yes, I think so bd. As far as I could see there were two types of "no" campaigners; the older, religious type who I have some respect for, as most of them have their entire lives seen abortion as murder and are genuinely upset by it all. I may think their opinions are wrong, but I respect their rights to hold those opinions and they were mostly respectful and polite.

The other type who were in-your-face aggressively trying to force people's thinking. Scarily most of the latter were young as well as not Irish (seemingly from the US), I felt that they weren't really talking about abortion per se , but had been brainwashed into some sort of religious (but not like any Christianity I've seen here before) cult where it was their way or the highway on everything.

Funnily enough, like the fundamentalists and the creationists, the trans-rights activists are also trying to force us to believe their version of reality. It's weird. I'm sure most TRAs would be horrified at being put in the same category as right wing fundamental Christians Grin

I know the thread has moved on but I don't know what to make of this comment by SupermatchGame :

pp: of course some will develop gender dysphoria and transition as they grow older.

SMG: Yes once they've got the male heterosexual bit of their lives out of their systems.

What?????

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 13/06/2018 11:24

Bronwen, I think SMG may be referring, obliquely, to the heterosexual TIMs who, once they have decided to identify as women, move on to identifying as lesbians. It's grotesque.

On Reddit lesbians keep on having to create new groups. The original one became overrun by aggressive TRAs. True to female socialization, the lesbians just created new groups. I think they were on their 4th new group last time I checked. Every new one got invaded by TRAs. Plus they get insulted by "progressives" for not accepting men as sexual partners.

Same old same old.

BronwenFrideswide · 13/06/2018 11:35

Thanks prawn I am just Shock that someone thinks heterosexuality is something one has to get out of their system and implies to me that males must be allowed to do all their male stuff and then seamlessly move into the female sphere because they say so.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 13/06/2018 13:03

Yes, Bronwen, there are so many of these totally mainstream het men, married with children, who suddenly decide they've always been women - and that women must accommodate them.

It's male privilege in action, a midlife crisis. Some men abandon their families, get a very young gf and a sports car. Some men transition.

I just listened to no country for young women on podcast, they were interviewing Munroe, I found it quite interesting that his dad was horrified when he came out as gay, yet was ok when he said he was transitioning. I wonder if its a homophobic thing for some of these people.
Its not Ok to be a gay man, but it is ok to be "trapped in the wrong body" and live life as a woman in a fairly normal hetro relationship?

Sorry to go off on a tangent but something I've been musing after listening.

SMG means those whose AGP takes over their lives.

I too wonder how many transitioners do so because it's more palatable than being gay for themselves and/or their families?

We know already that the Iranian approach to homosexuality is basically "transition or execution".

I wondered the same about the enthusiasm for transing kids younger and younger in more conservative parts of the US. I would imagine it is easier being a passing trans person than an out gay or lesbian in many communities, especially if a lot of the social life of your town is geared around your church.

Reminds me of this quote

"We shall soon be in a world in which a man may be howled down for saying that two and two make four, in which people will persecute the heresy of calling a triangle a three-sided figure, and hang a man for maddening a mob with the news that grass is green"
Gk Chesterton
