I just peak-trans'd again!

Who knew peak-transing could be like multiple orgasms?

Anyway just have to share my story. I was just removed from a feminist Facebook group after someone posted about Trans claiming “they are women” and I replied they weren’t.

Someone then called me a “terf” and “trash” and then > I < got removed despite the fact I didn't use any slurs, call anyone names, just stated that me agreeing that trans-women are women is tantamount to claiming 2+2=5 in Orwell's 1984.

I'd peak-trans'd long ago but this is the icing on my womanly (cause y'know, wimminz love to bake) cake.

@HotRocker That's awful.

What strikes me each time this happens is that there are people who refuse to submit to this Orwellian double speak but they are bullied by those who scream louder and lie louder. It is really terrifying.

Thank god for Mumsnet.

I suspect the same tactics might be at play here too, hotrocker, and I commend those indefatigable posters who won't let the bullshitters have the last (wrong) word.

LangCleg · 12/06/2018 20:32

Bees communicate via the medium of dance.

I am so, so, so, so, so tempted to include some remarks on bee reproduction and the chromosome count of the drones but I fear we might attract Daim. So I won't. I'll just say...

... spelling bees are bees!

Italiangreyhound · 12/06/2018 20:36

@HotRocker

'Another lesbian space lost to this transwomen are women bollocks.'

I'm sorry to hear that. Is it possible to start a new group and invite those who are female to join, from the original group?

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/06/2018 20:44

@CrustyCob

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 12/06/2018 20:45

TeenageDrama and HotRock, I was wondering if it would be worth starting a group for "Cisgender Menstruators" + lesbians, journalists.

You could then tell any critics they're transphobic. But it can't be that easy. I'm sure I'm missing something.

HotRocker · 12/06/2018 20:48

It isn’t even transwomen doing this, it’s women, lesbians in fact. That’s what makes it extra galling. They’ve swallowed it whole, in all its vile misogynistic glory. Anyone who doesn’t agree get bullied and called names. I’m a pretty tough cookie but it’s a step beyond what I’m willing to put up with.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/06/2018 20:48

BeeGees are bees

Remember the song "You should bee dancing" ?

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/06/2018 20:50

Prawn what about post-menpausal journalists? Eh?

CrustyCob · 12/06/2018 21:03

@HotRocker
That's shit. Saddened and angry for you.
I've seen a decades old support group, originally for parents of lesbians and gays, degenerate in the same way.

Stopped going in the end/ run out of town, and I was there with them over twenty years. It was taken over by the trans lobby and the blinkered.

Than goodness for here. I tend to lurk, and am heartened at the ability and insight of the women on these threads.

Another PMJ here, Whabylon. Well, more a writer.

I was thinking of a menstruator as being someone who has menstrual experience.

I saw a post the other day which described a TIM as a "woman with a trans history" So silly. But it did make me laugh. Perhaps we could call ourselves women with menstrual experience? .

Kyanite · 12/06/2018 21:25

Some transwomen claim to have periods...we don't even have that to ourselves anymore.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/06/2018 21:27

Oh Rabbits, were you on those threads? I remember them. [grIn]

And Prawn, I think we are just women with women's experience.

Anyway, as an antidote to all this, I just reread this lovely thread

I recommend it to you all.

Warning: it will make you laugh and cry
Further warning: does not contain bees (but does contain Y chromosomes)

SomeDyke · 12/06/2018 21:33

What I find interesting are the really weird cases from biology. Like this zebra finch:
www.scientificamerican.com/article/unique-bird-sheds-light-o/
where one half of its brain really is male, and the other half really is female. Okay, for a non-life sciences scientist, W and Z in birds not X,Y, and ZZ male, WZ female. So one half of the brain had (almost) no W, the other half lots. So chromosomally different sides, even though same hormonal environment. And different structures (males have the big sing a fancy song bit and flashier feathers, think BeeGees style wotsit!). This is what a true both male and female individual should look like (it indeed had both male and female gonads). This is not what you get in the (majority?) of trans folk, who are perfectly boring normal males or females at the chromosomal level and upwards (I leave out the small numbers of intersex trans individuals).

Isn't real biology fascinating! I'm still perplexed by the THREE sexes of slime moulds (but then slime moulds do all sorts of freaky stuff!). And seems cave insects have females penises and male vaginas:
www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S096098221403145
Again, isn't real biology much more fascinating and illuminating than the made-up sparkly unicorn nonsense TRAs would like us to believe as ''science''.............

SomeDyke · 12/06/2018 21:35

Some transwomen claim to have periods... Piles can be a bugger, but using tampons to treat them is probably sub-optimal...........

CrustyCob · 12/06/2018 21:42

I've had to surrender my driving licence due to ill health.
Does this mean I am no longer a woman if I cannot find my bank statement?

Furx · 12/06/2018 21:59

Oh god. I was a shaven headed army boot wearer in tHe early 90s snogging anyone I fancied.

I got hit by a sudden rush of nostalgia there.

I think we need some good old fashioned MANLY MEN

Like this one.

Starkstaring · 12/06/2018 22:02

I'm still stuck at

". Essentially most trans women are intersex but in ways medicine did not understand twenty years ago. "

Hmm
HotRocker · 12/06/2018 22:08

What is it that medicine understands now that it didn’t understand 20 years ago?
god, I feel a mixture of amusement and despair.

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 12/06/2018 22:10

@Kyanite They're welcome to them. Mine just came back after 2 years thanks to pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I'd forgotten that as well as cramps and bleeding there's all kind of bowel issues, bloating, overheating, and of course, the occasional bout of post-menstrual thrush.

If I identify as a trans-woman do I get to skip those bits?

OP posts:
ChickenMe · 12/06/2018 22:30

Thanks for the entertainment Gib and top marks for effort but it's bollocks

ChickenMe · 12/06/2018 22:32

BeeGees are bees

Stop it

May piss self (is Tena Lady transphobic? Is my damaged post -instrumental birth pelvic floor triggering???)

Maryz · 12/06/2018 22:34

Gibberty reminds me of my next door neighbour. A very nice man, but a Baptist minister.

He's full of scientific facts, and has reams of "evidence" to back it up which he encourages me to read. I'm very polite to him. I'd never roll up at his door and yell "God who doesn't exist didn't invent dinosaur fossils".

But no matter how much he believes it, and no matter how polite people are, everyone knows he's talking bollocks.

boatyardblues · 12/06/2018 22:39

Maryz - Your post has reminded me of Noah’s Ark Zoo off the M5 in Somerset. The contemporaneous dinosaurs and early cavemen side by side in the anti-evolution diorama in the display barn was something special. I don’t think DH and I have laughed that hard in ages. One of our more memorable pit stops on the way to Cornwall. Grin
