Feminism contradicts an equalist society: discuss

I’ve been watching a lot of threads lately and I have come to the conclusion that; feminism in its earliest form was a beacon of light in an unjust era. Fighting against clear inequality between genders. My question is, as the gaps reduce into non existence should we begin to describe ourselves as equalist as opposed to feminists.

I think this is a really important point to discuss as evidence suggest that the youths of the day I.e 0-30 years olds there are virtually zero inequalities between men and women, and, the variables that are unequal are because one side chooses to be different.

Thoughts?

Look at recent approval polls done in America. Feminism came below Donald trump. Easy google search.

I feel like this gem has been overlooked. An approval poll that pits 'Donald trump' against 'feminism'. I couldn't find this supposed poll as it was not in fact easy to google search, but I am intrigued by the non-sequitur of its subjects.

I'd like to know what else came up in this sudden-death approval poll. Dogs vs oranges? Mexico vs hair? Being eaten by a shark vs a pay rise? WHAT DO YOU PREFER, PEOPLE?! Pollsters want to know.

The OP thinks we have it all wrong - now where have I heard that before?

I tend to agree with AAK. This appears to be the many times banned midnight misogynist turned up to another go at mansplaining how the Feminists are womaning wrong.

I know the OP has vanished in a puff of smoke but I wonder what they made of today's headlines.

Frustratingly, I'm the only woman I know who is openly a feminist. I say frustratingly because most of my female friends are middle aged, single, highly educated, well paid, professional, independently wealthy/home owning women. None of which would have been possible without feminism.

Four of us (in fact, the only four I know well enough to have this sort of information on either way) have experienced physical and sexual violence at the hands of men. One quite significantly so.

But they see femisim as being about hating men and they don't, so they are not. Apparently.

On the other hand, I know one man who claims to be an equalist. He comes out with similar sort of things to the OP is here.

He is the most misogynistic man I know.

My experience tells me that those who believe in 'equalism' are dressing up misogyny in a way they feel cannot be challenged because who would disagree with Equality?

I stopped responding to questions framed as when I finished college.

Equalism my arse. I know he's gone but I thought feminism was about the liberation of women, not a nebulous social justice happy-movement where women (by their own "choice," naturally) do all the emotional, physical and social labour.
