Sex change is impossible.

Be gender non-conforming.

Love your body as you are.

You can wear/do what you want whatever your sex.

Respect other people's boundaries.

Be responsible for your own well-being.

Don't force others to pretend along with you.

Lemonjello · 02/05/2018 15:32

Shit that was actually an accidental misgendering I just did. I meant to say “I’m sure shon would appreciate knowing that fact about erasers, such are shons interests.”

WanderinWomb · 02/05/2018 15:33

It is well known that The Erasure Earworm is just behind gravity as one of the most powerful forces on planet Earth.

Here on this thread we harness that force for the power of good.

Stop!

I've been through the coach built prams, my own DC. I've been through plain ordinary pushchairs - eldest grandkids and am now onto swanky pushchairs - youngest grandkids. I might need an updated glossary too.

MyOtherUserNameIsAUnicorn · 02/05/2018 15:34

Thanks Shon.
Just cemented my peak trans.
Signed the petition. It's not healthy in any society to have this sort of silencing of women's voices.

@FlyingBird can we include Lidl's new Lupilu range too?

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 02/05/2018 15:36

Hn

MyOtherUserNameIsAUnicorn · 02/05/2018 15:36

I mean really. If people like Shon keep posting the narcissistic dross that they have been on Twitter then the argument will be won. They are doing us a favour really.

Bejazzled · 02/05/2018 15:36

I love Erasure!
best

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2018 15:36

Better report yourself, lemonjello.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 02/05/2018 15:38

Honestly, the effort required by everyone ... tip toeing around ...watching what we say. It’s totally controlling and I am very upset that I’m being silenced by bullies but I’m supposed to be looking at what I can do to change that.

averylongtimeasSpartacus · 02/05/2018 15:38

Poor Shon. Is harassing mn all they have got to do? Because of the wrong pronouns? Or did I miss something?

Lemonjello · 02/05/2018 15:38

Was just about to bit someone got in first. Thank you Smile

mynamechangemyrules · 02/05/2018 15:40

Sorry, but genuinely, who is Shon Faye? I've briefly googled and get nothing useful. Is she someone in politics or a comedian or what?

gendercritter · 02/05/2018 15:40

What I don't understand is that unlike some peole, Shon possesses a brain and has a good education behind them.

Shon you could grab a cuppa and come over and chat to us. Get stuck into the debate and put your side across. Mumsnet respects clever people with a solid argument. We welcome discussion and actually discussing what your stance with the opposing side can strengethen your position and even get people over to your side if you have a valid point to make (unless or course it's all based on belief only, in which case I can see why questions and evidence are threatening)

I've dipped my toes into other areas of the internet talking about trans issues and have come away quite shocked at the levels of actual transphobia. It's sickening. Mumsnet gets, ahem, robust at times but other trans people cope and I think in fact value being here.

I'd have so, so much more respect for you Shon if you came and sat at the table instead of just yelling we're meanies.

FlaviaAlbia · 02/05/2018 15:41

Lemonjello but what about eye wateringly expensive scented erasers from smiggle?

Why don't they get a mention? Huh? I can't believe you erased some erasers Shock

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 02/05/2018 15:41

Was my last post deleted because I said SF is an arsehole. I’ve been called way worse on Mumsnet on the Telly addicts thread and that wasn’t deleted?!
Double standards.
It’ll change the whole shape of this site if it’s allowed to continue.
It used to be one of the only places I could come to where men didn’t get to dictate to me what I talked about and how I said it.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/05/2018 15:41

Beer, it's fine. If Shon wants to be called Shon, we can all call Shon Shon and hope it makes Shon happy

HoneyDragon · 02/05/2018 15:41

Can you imagine if Tommy Steele penned Little White Bull now? When his mum calls him her pretty silly little bull, who’s her little bull and just ain’t black all the other activist bulls would be mean to her on Twitter and come around with black bull paint and tell him he’s a black bull.

The black bulls would still strut around being black bulls, the white bulls would have to call themselves cis white bulls and our heroic little white bull would never break the bull glass ceiling to become the best bull in Spain despite being white Sad

mynamechange - Shon writes columns in the Guardian, but I am not sure what Shon's professional background was before relatively recent high profile as TRA. Shon is very popular with people like Owen Jones, who cites Shon along with Paris Lees (who thinks women should enjoy getting harrassed in the street) and Lily Madigan as the voices we should be listening to with regard to questions like 'what is a woman'.

Shon has made some statements seen by many as controversial, along the lines of advising young girls to grow tits and be slutty.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/05/2018 15:45

Maybe we should just erase singular personal pronouns? They seem more trouble than they're worth at the moment.

LangCleg · 02/05/2018 15:45

Nobody in my house eats fish fingers. Is this Mumsnet treachery on my part?
