Is it just MN that TRAs are targeting? I've seen some awful actual transphobia on male dominated forums but never see criticism of them. Anyone would think this was about silencing women.

It is. Have you ever read the Kiwi Farms forum? Ever seen a twitter post about them? It's a massive majority male forum with threads going on for 100s of pages. Far far worse is said there than here.

And so too are women’s rights.

Equality for both of us involves levelling the playing field so that neither of us is disadvantaged by our identities.

Both transgender people and women experience hostile environments. The problem is when we each of us contribute to the other’s oppression.

We could go round in circles with this and have done for some time.

How to resolve this? Is there common ground?

Whilst we talk about conflicts of rights it helps if we can use biologically correct pronouns or everything becomes muddled and confusing. But if we are picking apart one person’s opinion etc it can easily come across as hostile, sneering and threatening. Context really is all

I looked at the tweet. It appears that Shon's complaint is that some people use the wrong pronouns when talking about her. This is the transphobia. That's it.

I hope Shon never comes up against real transphobia. I assume Shon hasn't or she wouldn't be trawling the internet pronoun chasing. Surely she'd be tackling actual transphobia. Like how some men make it unsafe for transwomen to use male spaces. She's not putting effort into reddit, piston heads and all those places to educate men about not abusing transwomen. She's here chasing pronouns.

Of course maybe Shon's all over the genuinely transphobic internet too. There's a lot of it to cover. So as a way of helping, I'll call Shon a she so she can avoid getting distracted by anonymous women who use he to refer to people who have/used to have a penis when they are discussing the impact on women and girls of penis people having access to women's spaces.

Yawning is terribly non-U. It's a bit like sitting in a really boring lecture in the front row. You have to pretend that every ounce of your being is in an electrified state and you are hanging on every word they are saying. Rather than find their self-absorption a little tedious. As someone far more succinct than I am put it, if being trans is the most interesting thing about you, you need to get out more.
Life isn't all about choosing to perform gender. Try something else for a day or two, Shon love. you can't erase reality.
