MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

In that context I meant that my dd does not have a male body.

If your daughter was born male, she has a male body.

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 18:27

aspects of reality

Is it only you who gets to define reality? Who does? A few hundred people on Mumsnet? (Not talking about self id here). As opposed to who.. the NHS? The Royal College of Psychiatrists? The American Academy of Pediatrics? Parliament? The legal system? The European Court of Human Justice? Stonewall? Whose reality?

IWillReportAllTransphobicPosts · 30/04/2018 18:27

Who I choose to have sex with is quite frankly none of your business scrappy

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 18:28

Are you talking about males?

Nope. Not particularly. Trans people. Trans men and trans women.

Ereshkigal · 30/04/2018 18:28

You're basically devaluing the rights of a^ previously marginalised and oppressed group^.

Oh you mean like women thought we'd gained rights, and people like you think we should give them up?

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 18:29

I keep typing and deleting posts to IWillReportAllTransphobicPosts. I can assure you that they are all heeelarious.

However they seem like a very unhappy person with quite a lot going on in their life. Despite their rather questionable approach to equality between the sexes, I would suggest going easy on them if you can bear to.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2018 18:29

You're basically devaluing the rights of a previously marginalised and oppressed group. Dismissing them as a fiction is like trying to turn back their emancipation by decades. I can't see any government wanting to do that. Not a democratic one anyway.

Does that mean we can be assured that the rights of women will not be devalued? Does that mean that we can be assured that the word 'woman' doesn't become a fiction, no more than whatever someone wants it to mean?

If 'woman' becomes undefined, then 'women's rights' become meaningless. The only right we'll have left is the right to remain silent.

CatchingBabies · 30/04/2018 18:30

Deleting posts simply saying "bless" and "yawn" when I have reported posts giving unqualified dangerous medical advice actually telling someone to take a drug that would cause them harm and they still stand. What on earth has happened to mumsnet moderation!

OldCrone · 30/04/2018 18:31

You're talking about women, right? Unfortunately that is exactly what governments are trying to do.

TERFragetteCity · 30/04/2018 18:31

Even the most committed trans rights activist insists upon their right to treat the sexes differently, when it suits them.

Yes, remember the Trans Activist who went to punch someone, and was held back by a female trans supporter who he then turned on? Weird how the violence is only directed towards actual women?

Proof that they have their own agenda is when they refuse to speak to and listen to Katrina, Debbie and Miranda as they are the wrong sort of trans.

KatherinaMinola · 30/04/2018 18:31

If you're going to delete all posts "designed to belittle" across all topics you're going to have your work cut out for you, @MNHQ. Look at the 5yo-reading-Harry-Potter thread for starters. I think it's in AIBU.

My deleted comment was on the lines of eye-rolling that he expects MNHQ to have a red telephone to inform him every time he's mentioned. That's all. I've been here since 2009 and that's my second deletion.

ReluctantCamper · 30/04/2018 18:31

SupermatchGame

A woman is defined as 'an adult human female'

A female is a member of the sex class with large (relatively speaking) immobile gametes, capable of gestating young.

Explain to me how a man becomes one of those.

Does the equalities act or the GRA provide an alternative definition of 'woman' that I should be aware of?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/04/2018 18:32

Is it only you who gets to define reality?

Reality is not defined, it is objectively observed Hmm

😄 That’s pretty presumptuous of you reluctant.

Apart from the rampant hatred for trans women on what used to be my favourite forum my life is about as happy as I could ever hope.

But thanks for caring 🙂

Being mistrustful of men being allowed to self Id as women does not mean hating transwomen. Wanting to retain women's rights does not mean hatred of transwomen.

RefuseToDenounceBiology · 30/04/2018 18:37

Is it only you who gets to define reality?

Scientific method - observation, testing, evidence & logic defines reality.

Wishing, believing, telling & forcing others to lie does not define reality.

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 18:37

...and Refuse you are back to making transphobic posts again.

Rufustheconstantreindeer · 30/04/2018 18:37

I was about to say i agree with reluctant

But ive also seen iwill post and agree that she doesn't seem unhappy at all

The rest still stands

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 18:38

Reality is not defined, it is objectively observed

Your objective observation seems very different to most people's though.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/04/2018 18:40

Your objective observation seems very different to most people's though

In what way?

SupermatchGame · 30/04/2018 18:40

& forcing others to lie

Would thieves say they are being forced not to steal? Are you being forced to wear a seatbelt in a car?

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 18:41

Your objective observation seems very different to most people's though.

Her objective observation matches that of everyone I've discussed this issue with in any detail.
