MNHQ Deletion Policy

TheUterati · 30/04/2018 17:03

Earlier today the Trans Park Run thread was deleted in its entirety because SOME posts alleging cheating were deemed to be 'not in the spirit' of MN.

We have a thread about that running.

I have just been deleted on the Heather Peto thread for posting this:

"Bless..."

A post intended to be mildly dismissive.

That was deleted for breaking talk guidelines.

Give me a fucking break MNHQ.

"Bless..." gets a deletion!??!?!

TRA really have got you on a short chain, haven't they?

Women who can't get pregnant can still experience discrimination

Yes - that's because I'm a woman, part of the female sex. It's sex based discrimination.

Please don't try to tell me my hysterectomy makes me less of a woman. Because that would be, to me, a very shocking and very unpleasant act of discrimination against me.

SupermatchGame · 04/05/2018 22:13

Only if you think it's a "right" for them to claim womanhood

What I think doesn't really matter. What the courts, health service and government thinks does.

They do not face sex based oppression.

They do if they are oppressed and discriminated against because of their sex - or gender for that matter. Hence their protection by the Equality Act and the establishment of their legal sex by the GRA.

HouseMouseQueen · 05/05/2018 00:24

Somehow I doubt the IWILLReport character is a mother. Sounds like a dude who is just come here to fight with feminists.

YAWN

Elletorro · 05/05/2018 00:30

Posting here to see if it gets deleted.

I’ve made 3 inter related comments on the paedophile campaign thread. 2 deleted but all saying essentially the same thing

Elletorro · 05/05/2018 00:31

Making a comparison with the institutional failings in Rotherham which meant that people were more concerned with not appearing bigoted than with preventing abuse

I wondered about that, Elle.
Some of the mods are quite unreasonable.

Which post gets deleted?

Or do they all go?

Elletorro · 05/05/2018 00:37

Hi bewilderness

I’m generally fairly measured so it’s been surprising. It seems odd not to be able to talk about a topic just because it’s dangerous territory. Again I’m drawn to the Rotherham analogy.

thebewilderness · 05/05/2018 00:41

It depends on the judgment of the mods I suppose so it is a range of responses that defy being understood as consistent in any way because they cannot be.
That is what I tell myself when I an not having a snark fest at their expense.

Elletorro · 05/05/2018 00:44

I don’t know

I might have been critical of mumsnet as well.

I think I said it was GCSE level critical thinking and clearly an exercise in compare and contrast.

Might have been a bit rude. But only about people being hard of thinking. Not about identity

TotallyLibrarianPoo · 05/05/2018 00:51

There seems to be a common thread over the last couple of days. It looks like they are targeting thebewilderness, and trying their hardest to piss her off, so she does something worthly of banning.

They know she has an impact on other posters. I know for me personally she's taught me (a huge amount) about feminism, to recognize insincerity, and about the MRA/TRA agendas. I've seen other posters state the same.

This isn't random, they are targeting her for the very fact that she is important to FWR. When it doesn't work they will go after other intelligent and informative posters. Have to admit that their tactics are rather sad. A 'man', reallyHmm, did they think all the posters would recoil in horror from bewilder? All a bit juvenile and pathetic really.

Ereshkigal · 05/05/2018 01:01

They do if they are oppressed and discriminated against because of their sex - or gender for that matter.

Not talking about gender identity. Try sticking to the point. They do not face sex based oppression grounded in female biological reality and expectations around that.

thebewilderness · 05/05/2018 01:11

TotallyLibrarianPoo

They know I am a sucker for a troll because I have said it and demonstrated it so many times, I suppose.
Thank you for your kind words.
I thought at first they were just some of the mean women from AIBU come to DARVO us into being nice to the men folx.

Poe's law gets me every time.
"Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to create a parody of Fundamentalism that SOMEONE won't mistake for the real thing."

AngryAttackKittens · 05/05/2018 01:16

They've been targeting specific posters for a while, trying to pick off the most influential voices.

TotallyLibrarianPoo · 05/05/2018 01:35

While it is annoying and frustrating to deal with, I don't think they have quite realized that it is only backfiring. There was a new thread on here today with someone new asking for explanations. It was quite amazing to see all these new posters speaking up. There was also a thread about staying with MN, and again new posters and lurkers were speaking up.

The goady-ness is just pissing more people off rather than having them jump on the bandwagon.

And haha on the TRAs, bewilderness could be an alien from the back of Bork and FWR would still love herGrin. She's got our backs, we've got hersGin

thebewilderness · 05/05/2018 01:57

You're a peach, Poo!

I think the breach and the twitter doxxing has driven women away. I ran into a few of them at Gender Critical Reddit.
There is nothing they can do to me so I do not care, but I care very much for those who can be harmed and have left this place in fear of what careless management has caused and could cause.

MadBadDaddy · 05/05/2018 02:17

bump

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 02:21

Also agree with Elletorro

ReportThis · 05/05/2018 04:03

Will await new talk guidelines with interest.

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 08:22

Trust in Justine is what I say. Look at it this way, no one ever reverts from peak transing.

FermatsTheorem · 05/05/2018 08:27

To go all Georgette Heuer, a rather lowering thought has just struck me.

This is win-win for Mumsnet in terms of spinning the situation. Ordinary MNers concerns hit the headlines - the Times no less. Any publicity is good publicity. Justine gives freedom of speech interview. Even better publicity. Behind the scenes MN tighten up the moderation policy (but apply it in an alarmingly arbitrary way, keeping us on our toes in a Kafkaesque hell). They come up smelling of roses while the most outspoken voices get silenced.

You've got to admit, as a display of how to spin one's PR machine, it's genius.

Pratchet · 05/05/2018 08:49

Meanwhile we are still talking and still laughing and still exposing the cruelty of the ideology.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/05/2018 09:07

Trans women face discrimination because of their biology.

Trans women share neither my biology nor my discrimination nor that of other natal women.
