but they're young and foolish and think they are seeing things through a unique prism us old farts don't comprehend.

Assuming Hannah is around the same age as Emma they aren’t actually young. They are too old to be pissing around acting like 13 year olds. The amount of responsibility I had their age made me very aware that I was an adult.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 30/04/2018 14:35

And we're back to vaginas being transphobic again.

The never ending VEFI trope.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 14:38

They're both what, mid 20s?

(Not the emotional age, obviously.)

OrchidInTheSun · 30/04/2018 14:40

She's 25. I didn't have much responsibility at that age either which I think is fairly common for middle class university educated people. Normally they're on graduate training schemes or the first rung of a career ladder, where no one actually pays any attention to their opinions on anything much.

This is how Huck describes itself:

"Huck celebrates independence: people and movements that paddle against the flow. Inspired by radical youth culture, Huck roams the globe seeking out artists, activists and creative renegades who are breaking down the old world to build something new.

Out on the countercultural frontlines, our reporters break stories before anyone else, offering a global map of youth-fuelled social change – from emerging subcultures that challenge conventions to investigative journalism that defies dominant narratives."

It's Rik from the Young Ones

@AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth

@TerfsUp

What criticism do you have of her writing? Everything she said about MN was demonstrated with links to the relevant threads.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 14:44

So it's a more pretentious Vice, basically.

ReanimatedSGB · 30/04/2018 14:47

@RedToothBrush - exactly. The pot is being stirred almost constantly, by a mix of utter fucking idiots, and people who see some advantage to themselves in manufacturing a war between 'feminists' and 'transwomen' in which everyone is supposed to take sides. Whether the aim of the pot-stirrers is to ensure that further restrictions on freedom of speech are brought in, to further demonise any form of sexual expression other than marital PIV with or without the consent of the woman involved, or to make the case that only heterosexual men are to be trusted to wield power responsibly without fighting and crying (unlike all these silly vagina-owners and other not-men), I couldn't say.

Weebo · 30/04/2018 14:50

It's Rik from the Young Ones

True many people don’t have a great deal of responsibility in their job at that age however quite a few do (life and death for me) and are married and raising children.

They are adults and have been adults for a number of years, their endless whataboutery and tantrums are incredibly childish. They aren’t young enough to be excused it. These mistakes (doxxing and discussing a former employer in such a manner) will follow these women for years to come.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 30/04/2018 14:54

And I agree it totally is Rik! Meeeeeeeee.

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2018 14:57

TRA fear moderates more than more virulent feminists.

You can't attack reasonableness in the same way.

Keep that in mind.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 14:58

Random - rewatched American Werewolf In London recently and was all, is that Rik Mayall? And yes it was. Somehow missed that before.

lightthedarkness · 30/04/2018 15:03

Yes RedToothBrush
It is reasonableness that makes them froth and shout.

How can the penis be a female organ?
Surely a woman has a right to ask for another woman to conduct her smear test?
Why are children being given off label drugs that will ultimately mutilate and sterilise them?

This is what the general public understand and agree with and this is what activists are desperate to stop us talking about - hence all the goady posts.

We must ignore the froth and keep going back to the core issues - persistently, respectfully and assertively!

BeUpStanding · 30/04/2018 15:04

Changing topic entirely for a second - there's a Young Ones reunion show on Radio 4 at the moment.

And I agree with PP saying this person wrote that article as pure clickbait, it's really disingenuous to do that to a former employer, and hopefully she'll grow up to feel some shame at how willing she was to throw women under the bus for a few woke points.

therealposieparker · 30/04/2018 15:08

Don't these spoiled anti women brats understand that this sort of behaviour will stop the being employed?

Whoa look at all these CVs...
This is Hannah's she worked at Mumsnet and then wrote a really shitty article about it, we really don't want Hannah on our workforce....

WomaninGreen · 30/04/2018 15:18

I heard this comment made about the other intern - I've worked with 22-25 year olds who have been efficient, sensible and understood Data Protection.

I think this article is probably a genuine reflection of what the writer thinks.

OrchidInTheSun · 30/04/2018 16:21

I work with YP in that age range at the moment and they can be a bit silly. But I agree it's very childish behaviour and that this will come back to bite them on the arse.

Both Emma and Hannah both went to Leeds. Maybe there's something in the water

Popchyk · 30/04/2018 16:37

Leeds does keep coming up.

I made these points in Posie's thread when she was under investigation for hate crime.

  • Mermaids is based in Leeds.
  • MESMAC (sexual health and survivors of sexual abuse charity) have been in the news recently for things that happened in Leeds. The Yorkshire branch were the ones who drafted the procedures stating that staff can have sex with clients. Paedophile Heathcliff Bowen also worked at MESMAC Leeds until his conviction recently.
  • West Yorkshire Police give funds to MESMAC.
  • West Yorkshire Police received two reports from Leeds Council about MESMAC. WYP did nothing.
  • Trans Leeds (support group for transgender people) and Action for Trans Health (yes, that lot) use MESMAC offices in Leeds for meetings.
  • Yorkshire Ambulance Service were the ones who invited Karen Jones (transgender killer and sex offender) to educate staff.
  • Susie Green of Mermaids contacted WYP about comments made online by Posie, and WYP immediately leap into action. This despite not responding to complaints of wrongdoing at MESMAC.
  • Now we have two former interns at Mumsnet who publicly accused Mumsnet users of transphobia. Were students in Leeds.
OrchidInTheSun · 30/04/2018 16:44

That is very interesting @Popchyk

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 16:46

When you lay it all out like that it does look a bit suspect, eh?

vitara · 30/04/2018 16:47

You say interesting, I say boring conspiracy theory.

Floisme · 30/04/2018 16:54

I'm sure Andrew Gilligan has written about MESMAC. I can't look on Twitter at the moment but I think it was in February/March - there was an article in the Times too as I recall.

Popchyk · 30/04/2018 17:06

Yes, it was Andrew Gilligan (an actual journalist from The Times) who wrote about both MESMAC and Mermaids.

He has also commented on India Willoughby's article in Pink News which compared Mumsnet to Hitler.

link

Greatly enjoyed India Willoughby's idea of "no exaggeration" in Pink News the other day. Could this kind of stuff be why they're losing the argument?

ButchyRestingFace · 30/04/2018 17:11

Andrew Gilligan - Christ, there's a name I haven't heard since 2003.

😂

OrchidInTheSun · 30/04/2018 17:11

Call me old-fashioned but I don't think grooming children and vulnerable people is boring @vitara

Thanks Flo - share tokens for 2 articles by Gilligan
