I do think it's treacherous behaviour. To MN. To women. I get that some of don't like this language, but that 'piece' is filled with deliberate inaccuracies and she wrote it knowing full well that MN is not able to respond in kind. So cowardice too.

But most of all, I think she's doing it to get attention, because by the look of it, her career is fading somewhat and she needs some hits on her blog.

And I'm fed up with mediocre 'writers' trying to give their careers a step up by stamping on MN

Oh look, another person jumping on the MN hate bandwagon for a bit of popularity. She's so pleased with how 'lit' her mentions are right now.

It's all a bit desperate.

Next up, someone who once unclogged a toilet at HQ to write a blog about all the transphobics. Gasp, shock.

JessicaJonesJacket · 30/04/2018 12:52

I don't think they should have a cull of their current staff. And as I said, I think it's difficult to determine someone's commitment to free speech at interview although AngryAttackKittens ' interview question did make me laugh. Grin

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2018 12:52

Someone who wants to get into media works at MN. They then see a good opportunity to get publicity from that time at MN.

/The End.

I don't see it as anything more or less.

Sarahconnor1 · 30/04/2018 12:53

Just had a quick look at Hannah's Twitter. She seems mostly to be talking to herself very few replies on any posts. Now if I was being cynical I might be thinking she is doing this to gain followers.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/04/2018 12:55

It's all a bit "I once met David Beckham at the airport and have been dining out on that story for the past decade".

Weebo · 30/04/2018 12:55

And pretending she's not wearing out her refresh button checking this thread.

You can buy followers these days if it means that much, you know.

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2018 12:56

She wants attention, publicity and followers.

Don't feed it. Ignore.

OohMavis · 30/04/2018 12:57

I mean, being accused of being transphobic is pretty serious stuff isn't it...?

Nah, that's just a normal Monday for most people nowadays.

GnotherGnu · 30/04/2018 12:59

We need to know that all of the employees /interns at MN who subscribe to this view are asked to leave asap

Absolutely NOT! I find it quite shocking that anyone thinks this is in any way an acceptable proposition. This is exactly the sort of post which plays right into the hands of MN's critics.

Sarahconnor1 · 30/04/2018 13:00

RedToothBrush agreed.

Popchyk · 30/04/2018 13:02

Embarrassing what some people will do to try to promote themselves on the internet.

All these self-proclaimed 'journalists' and 'writers' jostling together, all of them trying to grab the transphobia golden ticket that they think will propel them towards an actual career.

But none of them capable of research, argument or clarity.

It is like some desperately bad reality show.

Wanderabout · 30/04/2018 13:04

She wants attention, publicity and followers.

Don't feed it. Ignore.

Good advice.

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2018 13:05

Why is it any different from what Owen Jones does? Have an opinion, can write? There you are, you can work for a newspaper.

Makes a mockery of journalism.

(Mutters under breathe).

NoSquirrels · 30/04/2018 13:07

I am sad about all the hate directed at MN for 'transphobia'.

I am sad individual trans people feel that a website full of angry women is attacking their rights, and is "Transphobia Central'. Juno Dawson retweeted then "clarified" to say:

I don’t think most mums on Mumsnet are prejudiced at all, I just think the site has been hijacked by some trolls.

I don't know if I am part of the group "most mums" or "trolls". Genuinely.

In my opinion I am not prejudiced at all. But I am concerned about women's rights and trans rights intersect with women's rights. So am I a troll, or has my "most mums" concern been hijacked against my will? Am I under the influence of something I don't understand?

sigh.

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 30/04/2018 13:08

They can, and should, do better.

What the hell is with this 'do better'? I see it fucking everywhere and it really grinds my gears!

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 30/04/2018 13:10

"She wants attention, publicity and followers.
Don't feed it. Ignore."

Ok Red you're right

Makes me mad though Blush

OP posts:
Popchyk · 30/04/2018 13:11

"Do better" means capitulate to the trans lobby immediately. And denounce biology as transphobic.

Nothing else will do.

nauticant · 30/04/2018 13:13

All these self-proclaimed 'journalists' and 'writers' jostling together, all of them trying to grab the transphobia golden ticket that they think will propel them towards an actual career.

Now why did that make me think of Little Owen Jones?

RedToothBrush · 30/04/2018 13:16

You are supposed to be getting mad. Job done. You've shared the story.

This is why wannabe opinion column writers will flock to the subject. Its emotive. Therefore really click baity and gets a reaction.

Also a lot of what is going on at the moment is to get women to behave in a way which 'proves the point' for trans activists.

Don't rise to the bait.

changeypants · 30/04/2018 13:19

I know what I would mean by "do better", it would be "apply some critical thought".

Out of interest is it at all possible to put forward the concerns many people here have about the rights & safety of women and children without being "transphobic"? Is there a way of phrasing it?

Sarahconnor1 · 30/04/2018 13:21

RedToothBrush absolutely. No doubt Hannah will be searching MN to see if this is being discussed, desperate for a post she can share on Twitter.

Let's not play that game.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 30/04/2018 13:22

I can’t take anyone who calls known doxxer of women, Emma Healey a “whistleblower”.
Do these people have any idea what a whistleblower is FFS?

That was a label attached to her quickly by her pals when it was clear she had got herself into some potentially deep shit.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/04/2018 13:23

Out of interest is it at all possible to put forward the concerns many people here have about the rights & safety of women and children without being "transphobic"?

Given that women are chastised as transexclusionary for discussing the biological realities of being female, unfortunately I very much doubt it.

ArcheryAnnie · 30/04/2018 13:24

It's all a bit "I once met David Beckham at the airport and have been dining out on that story for the past decade".

This! ^^

I should imagine that there will a range of views amongst women working at MNHQ - some may be gender-crit, some may think gender-identity is the be-all and end-all and we on FWR are all evil transphobes, and some will not have thought about it much at all, much as in the rest of life. That's all fine.

What we expect from anyone working at MNHQ is much like we'd expect anyone else working at any other social media platform - that they keep our data safe, and mod threads in an even-handed way. What the likes of this Hannah can't stand is that is exactly what has happened, when she wishes MNHQ had modded all threads in a much more biased way which fits in with her own worldview.

I'm fine for people with Hannah's views to work at MNHQ if they want to, as long as they don't dox and invite harrassment women like the intern did. I'm not in the least impressed by Hannah whining after the fact that not everyone in the world agrees with her, though, and I can't imagine any future employers will be, either.

tl,dr: meh.
