It's going to be amazing. Please come.

A famous trans activist is coming. Film crews (yes more than one). Feminist royalty. This event is a game changer.

Have the transactivists all gone to the pub? They were making a right racket throughout Heather's speech.

Hyppolyta · 19/04/2018 20:51

Whos the famous trans activist?

Im trying to watch but my signal is terrible

pombear · 19/04/2018 20:51

There are so many of us I'm sure, who are sitting here in our rooms, willing you on. We can't be public yet, for the very reasons you all set out.

Thank you to those of you brave enough to do this. To face the onslaught of aggression, you are awesome. I'm just sorry I'm not with you. But every step you take, you help us all find a voice.

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 20:54

Munroe Bergdorf is there somewhere filming their documentary about what is a woman.

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 20:55

Apparently there were lots of cameras and news etc outside at the beginning. The TAS probably left when they did, reality TV culture isn't it

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 20:56

I mean all that virtue signalling is pointless if noone is watching

Spending2muchtimeonMN · 19/04/2018 20:57

Munroe Bergdorf is there somewhere filming their documentary about what is a woman.

So I'm guessing we can expect very little if anything of the excellent points the speakers have made to feature in the final documentary?

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 21:00

Probably not. Munroe is another example of a (trans person who is not female) who might look sorta passing under careful posing and photoshop but stood next to women in an everyday context the difference is unmistakable.

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 21:01

(There are pictures on twitter from outside the venue)

BrashCandicoot · 19/04/2018 21:01

Nicola is fab!

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 21:03

Sheila Jeffreys on the mic :D

SwearyGodPervert · 19/04/2018 21:03

Munroe has allegedly left (noisily) now after heckling over Heather.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 19/04/2018 21:09

Lord forgive me, but the mike is terrible, and it's taken a good few minutes of confusion before I realised Sheila Jeffries was saying 'Gender' not 'Jenga'

HerFemaleness · 19/04/2018 21:09

What was the principle that Sheila was talking about? Did anyone catch the name?

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 21:11

yogyakarta principles

Spending2muchtimeonMN · 19/04/2018 21:11

I think it's yogyakarta principles.

RosenbergW · 19/04/2018 21:11

She also mentioned Resolution 2048 of the Council of Europe

HerFemaleness · 19/04/2018 21:16

Thanks. I'd never heard of it, had anyone here?

Hyppolyta · 19/04/2018 21:17

Im a bit disappointed Munroe was there to disrupt, rather than debate.

Why do none of these people believe in free speech, or debate, or critical thought?

If they genuinely believe they are right, they should have an argument to put across, rather than intimidate the brave women attending

OldCrone · 19/04/2018 21:19

I looked it up after I saw it mentioned in the Scottish GRA Consultation document, to back up their claims of self ID as international best practice.

SlightAggrandising · 19/04/2018 21:20

Did they know Bergdorf was going to be there filming? Flounced off apparently, prob needed some more oxygen for the gaslight.

OldCrone · 19/04/2018 21:20

My last post was in reply to HerFemaleness

Spending2muchtimeonMN · 19/04/2018 21:20

Is it the person who asked the question who walked out half way through the response?
