It's going to be amazing. Please come.

A famous trans activist is coming. Film crews (yes more than one). Feminist royalty. This event is a game changer.

You were all brilliant posie, I really wish I could have been there.
Especially now I've seen that Sheila J and Magdellen B were there too!

I think I would have literally had fangirl vapours at all of the awe-inspiring women in the room! Grin

Melamin · 20/04/2018 09:19

Glad it went well Smile.

Brilliant that a venue has not chickened out, at last! Who'd have thought it with Millwall Hmm

Threewheeler1 · 20/04/2018 09:25

Hats off to you all Posie x
Fantastic that the Jamjar hosted & didn't buckle. Good old Bristol.
I'm nearby & wish I could have been there in support.

HerFemaleness · 20/04/2018 09:29

A dozen masked Student Grant's with toff voices

Let's name the problem, they were mostly men. It's always men. Outside abortion clinics - men. Writing fucking books that tell us we have lady brains and girl feels - men. Telling us to stop standing up for our own rights - men.

jeaux90 · 20/04/2018 09:29

I stayed up way too late catching up on the videos. It was really good.

I wanted to know at which point Bergdorf flounced though Grin

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:06

How can I watch the video ?

womanhuman · 20/04/2018 10:08

How are you trying Vix? On my phone I just clicked straight through.

womanhuman · 20/04/2018 10:09

Oh, on my phone I was in fb in browser, not fb in app if that makes a difference.

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:17

I logged into Facebook, went to the jam jar page and the clicked on the video but it wouldn’t open. Should I keep trying or is there another way ? It has had thousands of views, which was heartening.

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:17

I’m on iPad.

womanhuman · 20/04/2018 10:28

What if you try clicking on the link upthread? It works for me either way though, so if it’s not that I don’t know. (iPad iOS up to date?)

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:31

When I do that i get a screen message “sorry, this content isn’t available to view at the moment “ or words to that effect.
I have a quiet morning, dds at school, so no distractions and really want to listen to all the incredible women there.

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:32

What is IOS ? *luddite
Is a new iPad.

womanhuman · 20/04/2018 10:39

iOS is operating system on iPad. iPad would be nagging you if it wasn’t up to date so if iPad is not nagging you it’s not that. I don’t know then. It’s def available - I just cranked it up again. Have you a laptop you can try?

spontaneousgiventime · 20/04/2018 10:46

Great thread from Twitter about the meeting Here

SirVixofVixHall · 20/04/2018 10:46

I might be able to borrow DHs laptop if he isn’t on it, he is working upstairs, I’ll check.

BrashCandicoot · 20/04/2018 10:51

I had to watch the livestream through chrome - it kept bugging out on Safari.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 20/04/2018 13:39

@BrashCandicoot I found the same issue with Safari - I used Opera instead.

Brilliant, inspiring meeting - lots of information, a diverse group of speakers plus Sheila Jeffreys & Magdalen Burns from the floor. Sheila explained the source of the legislation contagion - so helpful to know the source of why all these undermining automatic policy changes that erase sex from any legislative equation - MRA inspired and funded of course. Thx DrRadfem and all involved

RosenbergW · 20/04/2018 17:11

From women's perspective it is terrorism but it is specifically directed at women themselves. From the venue's perspective atm it mainly seems to be economic threats (just as Mumsnet is being threatened with loss of advertisers), if that doesn't work then it's a small number of people outside shouting, which could piss off neighbours I guess. Have venues been receiving other types of threats and would they go on record to say so? Like for e.g. vandalism or staff being personally targetted.

OlennasWimple · 20/04/2018 17:38

"I'm feeling fucking rebellious" - great statement from a great panel

I hope the other meetings are live streamed too - not just so that those of us who can't attend in person are able to watch, but because it completely contradicts the picture painted by TRAs that the meetings are some kind of coven where women stand around cackling at how they are going to eradicate trans people and planning heinous acts of violence. The only eradication going on was in relation to the contents of that wine bottle

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 20/04/2018 20:27

Wow, I have been listening to this on and off all day and have finally finished and have to say how impressed I am at how many fearless women spoke out.

Thank you!

cjdamoo · 21/04/2018 02:41

so it seems a trans person is claiming that protesters were attacked by feminists and thrown down a stairwell.................

Bristol meeting tonight.
thebewilderness · 21/04/2018 04:35

Since there were seven police officers there I doubt that anything more serious than the masked terrorists intimidating women happened.
Terrorists are not usually considered reliable narrators.

thebewilderness · 21/04/2018 04:36

Still, I am sure the police will take accusations of their dereliction of duty very seriously.
