What's to be terrified of??

Its 24th of May. I am terrified of being attacked, a little bit, but mostly losing my job.

Meeting is on 24 May. Tickets available via eventbrite www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-womans-place-is-standing-her-ground-tickets-43753042528 All the Woman's Place UK meetings have gone ahead without any significant disruption, and really good discussion held. Please do come along!

Why on earth would you be attacked and then loose your job?

pottering Women have been physically attacked for attending these meetings. And people have lost jobs, particularly academics or public sector employees.

Because women who have attended these meetings have been targeted by TA s . In some jobs now if you say you are gender critical you could face dismissal ....

I certainly wouldn't be afraid of getting attacked, any aggression just get the police. They are trying to intimidate us, we need to not let them. If jobs are lost, then you need to fight that. You cannot legally lose your job for going to a meeting.

We are being bullied, personally I think we should be standing up against bullies...... Tra's on here please take note.......... You do not frighten us.

What happened to Posie Parker (apart from the arrest etc.)? Who's lost their job? (Genuinely asking!)

I cannot find any link to people in the NHS loosing their job because they went to a meeting in their own free time.

No one that I have heard of has actually lost their job as a result of going to a meeting in their own time. People may have lost their jobs for being transphobic or for insulting a trans person. Posie has been arrested yes but no charges have yet been filed. In light of this we need to keep fighting, they cannot arrest us all and I'm sure it cannot be legal to sack people for being gender critical. We need to keep a level head and fight if and when such events happen. The general public will be very against our rights being eroded.... If this sort of thing does happen.

I too wonder if the OP is scaremongering to put people off attending.

No-one has or will lose their jobs for attending an open meeting like this.

Because you're new you probably don't yet understand just how underhand some tra's are being, Mumsnet is being targeted by these imbeciles so we are right to be wary. Go to the meeting if you want but if you are genuinely scared for your job then you need to be sure. As I and others have said, we don't yet know of anyone who has lost their job because of going to a meeting. So personally I wouldn't worry.
