I still think it's an own goal. We can't say women are vulnerable when naked with men then simply all go naked in men only spaces.

For which they should roundly be called transphobic bigots.

Honestly, most people are simply not stupid. They will get it, in a heartbeat. They just need to connect some tiny dots.

They need to understand that most transwomen keep their penis and are attracted to women. They need to understand that you need no modification to either your appearance or your body to say you are a woman.

I doubt there's not a man in the country who wouldn't connect that dot instantly.

And they need to know that if they disagree, they are transphobic bigots.

And she seems to be quite economical with the truth about her failed attempt to be elected to public office as a man.

DM article doesn't really address it. Can I ask EVERYONE to register on the Daily Mail site and comment (only takes a minute) - some may get through their filtering.

Commenting on here is great - but it is rather preaching to the converted, and won't get the issue any wider recognition.

My completely reasonable, non-abusive comment has still not gone up on the DM. I left it 3 hours ago.

I am going to post on other non-moderated DM stories too, referencing the article, and signposting the petition. DM doesn't seem to allow links, so the Petition needs to be described rather than linked to.

I am going to post pointers to the story and petition on articles that have this tag at the top of their comments. It won't be relevant to the article, but it will get seen. I'm going to try the popular and political ones, as they have the most comments and presumably views.

Just off to sort out a wording now - I will try the petition link, but I don't think they allow them.

I am so impressed with the gentle way this has raised the issues with self-ID in the media.

The TRAs on Twitter are soooo angry - we must be making some headway here! They've not even stopped ranting and raving about the HoC meeting yet - and now they're ranting about this.

That Guiliana on Twitter (linked upthread) makes me laugh - just called the meeting a "Nazi hate rally" - er...... I don't think so dear.
