Yes, I think that the comments and such do prove that noone thinks selfID is a good idea at all. Even when they are thinking its just women doing it, most of them seem to be very disbelieving of the fact that a man could just randomly go wandering into womens areas. Its in protest to that, potentially being made into law you idiots!

If people were made aware that this is actually going to be a very real possibility, I reckon it would be something like 90% of the general public against it.

My DH has been flirted with by trans women on a validation kick. He's been alternately bemused or alarmed depending on how big they were. Overcome by lust, not so much.

I remember scoffing at my parents in the 1980s gender-ending era of boys looking like girls and girls looking like boys - 'Eeeee you can't tell the boys from the girls!'

I don't even think they were necessarily gay, a lot of men with AGP will flirt with men because they want the validation of being "seen as a woman". Blanchard wrote about this, it's a sort of pseudo-gay.

DH's comment was that compared to actual gay men they're incredibly bad at flirting.

(He grew up in a city with a massive gay population so is used to and fine with regular gay men flirting, though not interested.)
