From the tweet that got MB sacked:

"Once white people begin to admit their race is the most violent and oppressive force of nature on Earth … then we can talk."

HelenaDove · 27/02/2018 22:38

Don’t sugar coat it, Munroe.

I see Munroe is busy back-pedalling on Twitter this evening.

hipsterfun · 27/02/2018 22:45

Sorry, it’s clarifying to avoid further confusion, not back-pedalling Grin

I dont think the problem was that people were confused, much as Munroe may wish it so.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 27/02/2018 22:58

I believe that racism isn't always conscious and that yes, society does unconsciously centre and prioritise whiteness, which leads to unconscious bias and ultimately racism

Well yes, I agree with this.

But also:

I believe that misogyny isn't always conscious and that yes, society does unconsciously centre and prioritise men, which leads to unconscious bias and ultimately misogyny.

Check your own privilege, Monroe

*Munroe

lucydogz · 27/02/2018 23:05

did anyone see that Munroe has been appointed as an advisor on Labour's LGBT panel. Dawn Butler is thrilled apparently (yet one more reason not to vote Labour)?

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/02/2018 23:06

Lass i use their Elvive Colour Protect shampoo. And their lippies are great too

Thanks !

cista · 27/02/2018 23:07

Munroe's opinions on women are disgusting, but at least she hangs around to partly-debate them. She doesn't plop n block, like most of the others.

cista · 27/02/2018 23:07

Also, L'Oréal test on animals, so please don't but their products! Sad

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 27/02/2018 23:10

I’ve been doing all this being a woman business all wrong all my life, it would appear.

Thank you, Munroe, for setting me right.

Bejazzled · 27/02/2018 23:15
Hmm Appointed to advice Labour's Dawn Butler. Just excellent.
Munroe Bergdorf for Grazia "Women Are Getting Feminism Wrong.
Bejazzled · 27/02/2018 23:17

tut, advise.
and link

Note it was on BBC Newsbeat which is aimed at young people

hipsterfun · 27/02/2018 23:22

I for one had no idea women’s faces were supposed to be luminous as the super moon. Munroe helped, um, highlight my lack of awareness.

Though now Munroe seems to have gone for a very matte look.

(Disclaimer: Cosmetics are not my thing.)

What’s up with the flasher mac?

HelenaDove · 27/02/2018 23:22

"Loreal has been committed to no animal testing since 1989"

30% of L'Oréal is owned by Nestlé so not the pinnacle of ethically sound companies.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 27/02/2018 23:50

L'Oreal do not test on animals.

Munroe Bergdorf is a chippy mansplainer who appropriates the history and cultures of groups he has no connection with ... I think that's called colonisation, which is ironic considering Munroe is totes against colonisation.

cista · 27/02/2018 23:59

Tbf, Monroe has pissed a lot of people off with her event Labour appointment. If you look at the Uk subs on a Reddit, they are all highly critical of this decision. Even the Labour sub isn't happy! This may turn out to work in our favour.

NotTerfNorCis · 28/02/2018 00:09

These women do not see me as a ‘real woman’.

Mate, nobody sees you as a real woman, on account of the fact that you are male.

UpstartCrow · 28/02/2018 00:30

Inclusiveness when Munroe speaks and cries of 'white feminism' when we speak.

As for 'X company is ace because they do not test on animals'; Animal testing for cosmetics was banned in the EU decades ago. Thanks to a lot of protesting and petitioning.

Then people voted Brexit so tough shit. Thats gone now along with human rights protection.

LassWiADelicateAir · 28/02/2018 00:33

Derail but to be fair to the UK I understand UK standards for farm animals are higher than what is required under EU rules.

BlindYeo · 28/02/2018 00:56

The UK has a proud history of campaigning for animal rights and welfare. Since long before the EU even existed. The concept of human rights wasn't invented in 1993 either.

thebewilderness · 28/02/2018 01:02

The United Nations Commission on Human Rights which was founded February 16, 1946 will be astonished to hear that, BlindYeo.

thebewilderness · 28/02/2018 01:03

Sorry, BlindYeo, I got that bollixed up.

BlindYeo · 28/02/2018 01:04

You're making the same point as me
