So, hands up if you have been blocked by LM on Twitter?

Due to the fact that I have never actually had any contact with LM, and had only liked (or did the heart thing - I'm a bit Twitter illiterate) 2 comments on a Twitter feed (1 - very politely pointed out that LM has not actually spoken about a single women's issue since being in the role and 2 - pointed out, again politely, that LM seems to be more interested in trans issues than women's issues).. I'm going to assume it doesn't take much to be blocked by LM.

I have never posted anything derogatory or even commented on anything to do with LM On Twitter.

Have I managed to be no platformed without actually saying a word? Hmm

Not been blocked. Some of us need to sleepers inside the machine.

AdalindSchade · 27/02/2018 18:02

I have a shill account I use to follow all the trans activists. Sometimes I retweet some inane genderist nonsense.

DaisyDrip · 27/02/2018 18:14

LM is back already. LM has blocked another TIM who tried to advise her on this Twitter post.

WiseOldHag · 27/02/2018 18:16

Who to trust?

HattiesBackpack · 27/02/2018 18:17

I’m blocked too! Never interacted directly with LM, I do follow gender critical and like threads and tweets which outline that trans women are transwomen. Sometimes I actually feel sorry for him, he can’t cope with life in the media spotlight and will never be a credible politician. He should have been reeled in by a Labour mentor a long time ago, I do wonder why Labour are letting him crack on, are they hoping the TRA movement will just eat itself eventually?

Lily is the very epitome of ‘little rich kid’, cannot cope when someone says ‘no’ !

SeamusMacDubh · 28/02/2018 15:27

Just been blocked! I dared to ask what he's currently working on in the role of women's officer.

Obviously, this was totally unacceptable and triggering and basically abusive so, quite rightly I have been blocked.

XXHelenaXX · 28/02/2018 15:37

He blocked me on Twitter so I created a Twitter sock to spy on him.

That got blocked after I absentmindedly "liked" a terfy tweet.

FB sock got blocked 2 nights ago for saying "leave him alone" when a few terfs were trying to make him discuss simple politics (which is beyond his ability).

Wondered why he blocked someone who defended him! Then realised I had called him "he".

Luckily I had created a FB sock as a trans male, just in case he ever blocked me on FB!

mimivanne · 28/02/2018 16:45

Leicester Uni Labour seem to be excited about Madigans visit this evening;
6pm Lily Madigan is giving
'A talk on transmysogyny and being a trans woman in politics'
Has Madigan ,Womens Officer ever given a talk on any subject relating to ,you know, women ?

OrderOnline · 28/02/2018 17:05

A dull and confusing night there then! Who is handing out the virtue cookies?

SeamusMacDubh · 28/02/2018 20:44

Ask him @mimivanne and time how long it takes him to block you Grin

expatmatt78 · 28/02/2018 23:47

I only joined twitter after talking to you lot. I tried quite hard to get blocked and it took a whole week! The final straw I guess was yesterday when he was claiming his messages had been edited by terfs and I helpfully provided a screen shot. Feel quite proud.
Actually yesterday I had a lengthy twitter debate with someone and was proud to remain reasonable and calm whilst they were throwing nonsense and insults my way. I even had a transwoman sticking up for me! Might think again about wine and tweeting though ha ha

expatmatt78 · 28/02/2018 23:49

I was a bit sad though wondering what I would do for entertainment but realized I can still see his tweets on my burner account!

expatmatt78 · 28/02/2018 23:56

@olennaswimple Apparently LM has now been "living as a woman" for four years. But also , according to this article from 2016, he came out as transgender in Jan 2016 hmm
But today on twitter he is saying it is his "transiversarry"

expatmatt78 · 28/02/2018 23:57

Sorry my mistake it is a "gender_versary"

expatmatt78 · 01/03/2018 00:19

Actually i was clearly drinking and peaking last night while on twitter and I am pretty sure THIS might have been the reason.
I was just surprised no one else had already picked up on it.
"NAH we dont need guidelines" says Labours latest darling

So, hands up if you have been blocked by LM on Twitter?
LoveYouSo · 01/03/2018 08:44

@expat he's a typical male chauvinist and rich, entitled middle class kid. As much as LM tries he can't hide his male aggression and his hate for women.

bridgetbishop · 01/03/2018 09:00

I got blocked for asking a question.

When I was young and first getting into politics everyone, no matter their political allegiance agreed that debate was positive, that you should be able to argue for a position you believed in. That respect for ideas and discussion seems to have gone out the window. It's agree with me or STFU now. How did this happen?

LoveYouSo · 01/03/2018 09:05

Would love to see LM discuss the long standing issues affecting women and girls.

You know: sexual exploitation, rape, voyeurism, period poverty, patriarchal mindsets, sex slavery, childcare and maternity leave and care, childbirth choices& antenatal care, contraception and reproductive rights, domestic abuse, waspi women, gender pay gap, disparity of female representatives in politics(particularly mothers), female dominated low paid & highly pressurised jobs such as nursing, teaching and care work, reproductive cancers, the importance of cervical smears, cuts to women& children services, etc....

But according to LM & Co, feminism/feminine issues are intersectional and TIM issues are the same as women's, and their oppression is much more important, so discuss those first, not the world's oldest prejudice: misogyny.

Or is the lack of discussion from one of Labour's women's officers on feminine issues a signifier that LM in fact has no idea about the oppression actual biological females face?

What do I know though, I'm merely a wimmin, not Labour's pre-approved 'self-defining' women.

It's actual bollocks.

Natsku · 01/03/2018 09:18

I'm not blocked. I am sure I was on the terf blocker list when I checked it before (and I'm blocked by many TRA accounts I've never interacted with) but I just checked terf blocker again and I'm not on it - have I been de-terfed??!!

HomeTerf · 01/03/2018 10:33

Jesus. I just looked at LM's twitter, and once I'd navigated my way through all the twee, inane gifs (why formulate an argument when you can use a generic clip from Mean Girls?) I found a link to this blood-boilingly insulting article on 'Teenagers that changed the world'. Yes, my friends - along with Malala Yousafazi ("an outspoken supporter of girls' education rights in her Taliban-controlled hometown in Pakistan... Shot by a gunman on a school bus... Continued to be an inspiring ambassador for female education...") Lily Madigan is listed ("first transgender teenager to be elected women's officer for the labour party...Following her election the party was hit by a backlash from people saying trans women - particularly trans teenagers - shouldn't be allowed to stand for all female shortlists. The teen received so much hate online that she eventually tweeted 'Please stop, I'm so mentally distressed that I can't eat or sleep or go to school.'")

SPOT. THE. FUCKING. DIFFERENCE.

LM has today started a thread calling TERFs 'TERDs' and inviting LM's friends to join in with coming up with the most offensive and disgusting names they can. e.g. TENA ladies.

It's fucking playground level bullying, "oooh girls smell, yuk period blood" and it's going on in the highest echelons of the Labour Party.*

Why aren't the right wing press all over this??

A couple of screenshots of the ridiculous things LM says, is all that is needed. Or just a quote. They don't even have to use the name.

It would be ridiculously easy for the Daily Mail, for instance, to make the Labour Party into an instant, public laughing stock.

"Labour Party women's officer publically calls women who disagree with them TENA ladies".

"Labour Party women's officer says they can get pregnant, despite being born male".

"Labour Party women's officer says women's rights and sex based protections are transphobic".

I mean it's a piece of piss.

SuburbanRhonda · 01/03/2018 11:33

I just read that thread about “TERDS”. I am aghast.

How do we raise this with the MSM?

MrsOvarall · 01/03/2018 13:42

Are there screenshots of the TERDS thread somewhere?

Ereshkigal · 01/03/2018 13:52

I have a shill account I use to follow all the trans activists. Sometimes I retweet some inane genderist nonsense.

Grin think I will have to get one of those. My alt account is less gender critical than my main account but still obviously is.
