I don't want to be called a 'cis' nor referred to as 'cis' in any sort of patronising way. Not sure if I really understand but from the way it is bandied about it does not sound good.

Another example of what self id can lead to. The issue I have with this article is they say he 'falsely claimed to be transgender' but the whole point of the self id thing is that you are whatever you claim to be... So if he said he was trans, he WAS trans, according to their own logic.

It's used by many many trans activists as an insult in the same pattern as 'cisscum' and 'cuntscum' - ie 'terfscum'. Directed at women who want to debate self ID.

I peak transed my male DP by pointing out that under trans ideology, he, as a man who's good at flower arranging, loves animals, hads long hair would be the "woman" in our relationship, and I, as a female who shaves her head, rides bikes and loves engines would be the "man" he quickly got the picture.

Ah but we do. Many places are now only giving the option of self identification.

Which means you will proactively have to self identify as the actual woman you are.

It's not offensive. You're just looking for offence where none exists as yet another anti-trans Mumsnet thread. It is exactly the same as "heterosexual" - yes, it's the majority, but it's still useful to have an adjective for it.
