I’ve learned that there are some brilliant, learned and compassionate people out there, who come at this from all angles. One (purely anecdotal) observation is that the diversity of opinions within the trans-gender population is not remotely reflected in the bit of this conversation most visible at Westminster. The trans community’s opinions are not as homogenous as some reporting and discussion suggest. So here’s a tip for hacks covering this: don’t just book Paris Lees or talk about Lilly Madigan. Ask Kristina Harrison what she thinks. Or Tara Hewitt. Or lots of other people. The same goes for the ‘radical’ feminist side of this: there’s more to it than Germaine Greer. (Though for some media outlets that really should know better, having any voice from that side of the conversation at all would be an improvement.)

Corbyn may very well be labouring under and illusion of "old school transsexuals". But if he is then he's stupid and lazy. (I think he's both those things anyway.) If he doesn't think that and he's up to speed, then he's a fucking disgrace and I don't know how any woman could vote for the party he leads.

Either way, not good enough. I despise the man. And I voted for him to be leader. I'll always deeply regret that. I should have listened to my mother's generation. They could see right through him as a dim misogynistic prick.

I think it's a problem where men are [once again] telling women who & what they are. They see the category of "woman" not as a fully human half of the human race. They don't regard women as fully human. They regard the category of "Woman" as an empty space which they can control and define

Because they're only interested in campaigning for men's rights and they see transmen as women.

They know that TW are men. This is about power and control.

These men don't respect their 'allies', they are manipulating and using them. And these people are so desperate to be seen to be doing the right thing that none of them are stopping for a second to ask if they are.
