Just announced on their twitter and Facebook, Woman's Place UK are doing a meeting in London. If it's anything like the Bristol event it will sell out....

Pleases be careful tonight! I feel that things are turning quite nasty on the TRA side Sad

rb67 · 27/02/2018 13:38

just hope I can get there and get home again! (coming from outside London)

Datun · 27/02/2018 13:39

The spectator has just published a very timely article, that includes a reference to the meeting tonight. And how it has had to be so covert.

Which will only work in our favour. It will draw journalists.

It won't draw any more TRAs. They already know what's going on (and I'm sure they don't read).

And it will make it very difficult for them to be violent.

The spectator has already pointed out, in great detail in the article, how violence is being used to suppress debate.

It really would be too much of an own goal to expressly prove their point.

Datun that article is excellent.

I hope the meeting goes well today, I really wish I could be there.

MachiavellianBagOfCunts · 27/02/2018 13:53

PMed you @rb67.

Also thanks for that post Datun. I haven’t read the article yet, but I wouldn’t have thought of it in quite that light. It’s made me feel a bit better

flapsDentata · 27/02/2018 13:54

See you all later ladies x

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 27/02/2018 13:56

I've shared that article on Facebook & it sparked quite a good discussion with someone I'd expected to accuse me of TERFery.

StoatofDisarray · 27/02/2018 13:57

Booked.

Melamin · 27/02/2018 13:58

Keep safe and keep warm everyone. Looking forward to updates - will be following #WPUK

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 27/02/2018 14:21

Looks like my train is running. But I wont be in London til 6.30 so cant make the meetup with BeUpStanding. See you all at the event (i'm the one with a crutch - skiing accident - so if there's any bother I can defend myselfGrin)

PositivelyPERF · 27/02/2018 14:25

Brilliant article. No pandering to the MRA/TRA thugs, but very supportive of women. The sad thing is, people will take more notice because a man wrote it. A female writer would have some of the paper’s posters telling her it’s all the fault of feminism.

qumquat · 27/02/2018 15:31

GAH. I can't make it because the trains have been cancelled. I really hope this doesn't affect too many people and mean a poor turnout.

PositivelyPERF · 27/02/2018 15:45

Am I the only one who keeps checking in for an update? 😁

Geronimoleapinglizards · 27/02/2018 15:55

Nope Grin

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/02/2018 15:59

Me too :-)
Have done bus and train so far, just a tube to go now! Really looking forward to meeting some like minded folk!

Datun · 27/02/2018 16:55

Yay!

Sorry you can't make it qumquat.

To be honest, I may not make it home if it snows badly.

Bloody weather.

Wanderingwomb · 27/02/2018 16:58

Good luck everyone. After reading all the threads about the rapist /murderer invited to speak at the house of Lords the thought of you lot going to this event is about the only thing keeping me going.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 27/02/2018 16:59

Keep updating on how it all goes. Sad to be missing it!

IndominusRex · 27/02/2018 17:00

So gutted I can't be there. Will be watching for updates.

newtlover · 27/02/2018 17:01

I can't see the spectator article!

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/02/2018 17:08

Nor can I. I do have about my person the article in Gracia where Munroe Bergdorf tells us women how to be a feminist though - so helpful ;-)

MachiavellianBagOfCunts · 27/02/2018 17:18

Have pmed you, @BeUpStanding (different username)

MachiavellianBagOfCunts · 27/02/2018 17:32

Am convinced the two women sitting behind me are going too.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/02/2018 17:36

Are you on a train?

Geronimoleapinglizards · 27/02/2018 17:40

I'm having to stay at home. I have a disability and I think the snow will make things too difficult. I can't risk getting stuck.

Am properly gutted. I am with you in spirit. Stay safe and thank you to those who are showing up.

I messaged the organisers, just in case they can re-use my ticket.
