Just announced on their twitter and Facebook, Woman's Place UK are doing a meeting in London. If it's anything like the Bristol event it will sell out....

It was amazing, we are all in the pub bonding

Mouthandtrousersall · 27/02/2018 22:06

I am going to talk to Sophie walker. She asked for help

JaimesGoldenHand · 27/02/2018 22:06

Purdah?

OrderOnline · 27/02/2018 22:07

This makes me very happy Smile

Mouthandtrousersall · 27/02/2018 22:09

Bit disappointed there were no men outside in high heels on the ice

LifelongVaginaOwner · 27/02/2018 22:12

Thanks for making me feel so welcome and not making me go on my own. Nearly back in the City of Dreams (Milton Keynes). A tiny bit in love with Lucy Masoud

CapnHaddock · 27/02/2018 22:21

SW gave an amazing speech at filia but the way wep has treated hb-e is appalling.

CapnHaddock · 27/02/2018 22:22

Anyway, that's by the by. Very jealous of those of you who weren't snowbound!

Terftastic · 27/02/2018 22:24

Lucy Masoud - I knew I recognised the name - she's the Grenfell firefighter. Amazing woman. All power to her.

I do wish the WEP would get behind this - that would be a party I could really go for. I was v disappointed with Sophie's webchat on here - all that bunkum about men becoming women. She was brave to attend the meeting though.

I will make it to a meeting at some point!

ellaoldie · 27/02/2018 22:39

I went and read out Purpleanorak's post on this thread as she transferred her ticket to me. It was a great night, very inspiring.
Three trans women spoke in support of Woman's Place.
A woman from a radio station ( I forget which one),i nvited Woman's Place on to her show.
Lucy the Firefighter explained that Stonewall now just tells organisations how to move up their Index by installing gender neutral toilets etc. No advice on LGBT mental health, domestic violence any more.
And neutral toilets would undo her years of campaigning to get separate toilets.
Sophie Walker and Heather Brunskell Evans had a minor spat. Heather tried to explain what happened and Sophie said from the back row that it wasn't true...
Lots of other famous faces there

JaimesGoldenHand · 27/02/2018 22:44

You did really well, Ella.

WiggyPig · 27/02/2018 22:50

You were just behind me Ella.

There were 3 students next to me. I expected them to be at best sceptical given all that’s going on in universities but they were really engaged and enthusiastic about the issues.

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 27/02/2018 22:52

What a brilliant evening!
Loved the five very young protestors outside - they kept going despite being laughed at - what a shame that youthful enthusiasm cant be harnessed for real good Smile
The pub afterwards was proper mental. So many "famous" people!! I was a bit starstruck.

Fab to meet Datun, also the row of pom-bear eaters that I sat with (thanks for my bag!) and all the people who i didnt get chance to chat with. My train was late and i had a cheeky fucker mad woman sit on me on the bus, telling me i was in her seat 😂😂

Top night, thanks vipers ❤️

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/02/2018 22:52

Was very good. Thank you from me too for everyone making me feel welcome - and safe!

I have found my people.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 27/02/2018 22:52

Brilliant to meet you, LifelongVaginaOwner & EllaOldie. Lucy Masoud included a shoutout to Mumsnet in her speech which got a cheer - MN got quite a few cheers! Datun told the room to "shit or get off the pot" Grin

Sophie Walker looked pretty rough. To be fair, she was brave to stand up at all after listening to the boos & hisses that followed every mention of WEP.

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 27/02/2018 22:54

And RadicalFern - fab to chat!

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 27/02/2018 22:55

Great to meet you too, GoodEnough! Meeting up beforehand & going together made all the difference. The table in the pub was festooned with Pom bears & Datun's Pombear / Penis beaker / Naice ham sign Grin

MyTerfNeedsRolling · 27/02/2018 22:55

ellaoldie well done on saying your bit -very brave Thanks

It was great to be there and meet some of you. And great that MN got lots of shout-outs! Had to get home straight after sadly, but hope to regroup again sometime.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 27/02/2018 23:02

Hope to see you again too. Nora.

TheXXFactor · 27/02/2018 23:13

Sounds like a great night - have been following on Twitter. Hoping to see lots of you in Birmingham.

FloraFox · 27/02/2018 23:24

That was a great evening. Miranda Yardley said almost exactly what Julia Long had said earlier and got lots of clapping whereas some people were heckling Julia Long and one of the speakers apologised to the two TIMs for what JL had said. For me that was the only sour point in a great evening.
