The pot banging and so on sounds like one of those skimmity-ride things they used to have in previous centuries to shame an adulterous wife. Kind of apposite somehow that they'd choose a form of disruption so rooted in misogyny.

Fekko · 15/02/2018 08:36

That’s a bit too deep and meaningful for them! Half probably had only a vague idea of why they were there and only went for the crack.

VirginMediaAreShite · 15/02/2018 09:11

Sounds like an interesting night and I am glad there was such a good turnout, wish I could have been there to show my support. I agree that we need to be brave and show numbers. I refuse to be intimidated by the emperor's new clothes.

There is a query about the protest on Edinburgh reddit which wants a bit of educating if anyone has time today. I have a lot on and know you need to be present when a reddit thread spirals. Sad to see a genuine query immediately met with abusive vitriol but not surprised. Who knew that wishing to observe biological scientific fact makes me an "arsehole" or a "git"?!?

One of them was banging a silver pet food bowl. So rad.

SomeDyke · 15/02/2018 12:42

"One of them was banging a silver pet food bowl. So rad."
Wonder if some hungry un-fed pussy will be biting back in protest...............Grin

Auldspinster · 15/02/2018 12:52

Sorry i never made it. Where abouts was it held?

rb67 · 15/02/2018 19:57

sisters uncut have posted on their facebook that people should go on the facebook page of The Out of the Blue Drill Hall and protest at them letting the hall to wicked TERFs up in Edinburgh last night

have a look at the drill halls facebook page - its quite amusing

That Ryan dude is a shining example of Leftie brocialist. Cares deeply about every oppressed group going except women.

On the FB page, someone called Katie Marie responds to Caroline Rosemary by saying, "You're despicable".

I can't read that without hearing the voice of Daffy Duck!

sexnotgender · 16/02/2018 08:53

Can anyone who was there, or not quite frankly leave a good review for out of the blue drill hall on their FB page.

I’d hate these TRA/MRA reviews to affect their business.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/02/2018 11:42

I tweeted the Drill Hall to say thanks. Sisters Uncut are demanding they give all the takings from Wednesday to a trans charity and issue a full apology.

I really their foot-stamping goes ignored.

Fekko · 16/02/2018 11:48

I daren't google. Who are these Uncut people?

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/02/2018 12:02

Supposedly a women’s domestic violence charity. They were protesting outside the venue on Wednesday.

anti-TERF banner making session

Fekko · 16/02/2018 12:49

Domestic violence, eh? So what does that have to do with the trans debate?

Are they protecting the mostly female victims of domestic violence or not? Sounds like they are protecting the rights of males to gain access to safe spaces.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/02/2018 13:40

I’m confused by how trans rights are a focus of a women’s organisation to such an extent they’re organising protests against women.
It’s depressing.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/02/2018 13:41

🤔😂

I'm assuming that the Sisters Uncut organisation at some point was infiltrated by one or more TIMs.

This is why feminism and associated groups should exclude men because all it takes is one dude with male socialisation and confidence to start centering the whole thing around him and his views. So many women will fall in line with this especially if accompanied by a good sob story of much oppression. The man/men will then use these women to oust the more difficult ones that don't fall in line.

It's such an obvious pattern of behaviour and so very male regardless of whether said male sporting lipstick and a dress.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/02/2018 14:21

Yes, just as Lily Madigan seems to be treating the post of Women’s Officer as Trans Officer.

Fekko · 16/02/2018 14:41

No it’s ‘lil’s officer’.

CoolCarrie · 16/02/2018 15:49

It would be interesting to see if the masked wee dafties/ cowards from Wednesday have their own meetings at the drill hall, no one will be hassling them if they do. It is a great space, but no, they will want to boycott it now going by the ridiculous messages on its Facebook.

Fekko · 16/02/2018 17:18

Great for the drill hall.

If I worked there I’d dread them booking an event. I imagine they’d be right pains to deal with and would probably not be the politest lot.

Destinysdaughter · 17/02/2018 10:05

I just saw this on Twitter:

Fekko · 17/02/2018 10:06

Has someone not asked them why they were trying to intimidate and drown out a rape victim telling her story?

Silly wee lassies.

Fekko · 17/02/2018 10:06

Shame on them! I suppose half term must be over soon.

cista · 17/02/2018 12:48

Ffs, they really do pull these statistics right out of their arse, don't they?
