Not paranoid. Could you use a different browser and log into eventbrite with email instead of using an account that is linked to your fb?

I don't know if it's automatic or if you can select not to share with your fb contacts. My eventbrite is only linked to my email.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 23/01/2018 11:36

Can we have more theme music?

Girl by Robots in Disguise?
'We're double x and proud of it'

MarSeeAh · 23/01/2018 11:38

When I bought my ticket I had the option of sharing on FB and chose not to. Same with the Glasgow event. As long as you choose not to share it should be ok.

Or for peace of mind, sign up with a different email address.

I understand the paranoia - I now have various email addresses and aliases both on FB and Twitter.

OOAOML · 23/01/2018 11:44

Thanks, bizarre to have to worry like this! I might just set up a new email for this and responding to the consultation. Maybe go in via Firefox instead of Internet Explorer as well.

Nineteenagain · 23/01/2018 11:55

OOAOML
I went to the we need to talk in glasgow booked via eventbrite on my phone and it didnt show up on my page. Hope this helps

53rdWay · 23/01/2018 19:12

Argh, I can’t make this one Sad Will be there with you in spirit!

PlonitbatPlonit · 23/01/2018 19:48

I'm pretty sure the eventbrite booking won't show up on your Facebook unless you choose it to.

OOAOML · 23/01/2018 19:56

Thanks once I know more about half term availability i'll book.

Throughtheforest · 24/01/2018 10:40

I will go to this if at all possible. May possibly take a DC or 2. Worry about the rubbish they're going to be surrounded by when they go to uni. I was on a plane recently and had a nice chat with the 20 something Canadian woman next to me. Then the topic of Trans came up, and she turned into a kind of brainwashed clone person. Scary.

I have been a lurker on AIBU, and more recently the feminism board when I found it, but this issue has finally made me sign up. When I read about the meetings in Glasgow etc I was telling myself I wished there was one closer to me, so now that there is I'd better put my money where my mouth is. I hate to admit though that I'm a bit scared to go on my own (which is ridiculous as I'm 52 fgs) so if there was any chance of meeting up it would be a relief. I do have a 15 year old daughter but she seems to have avoided this so far so I'm not sure if I'd want to bring her.

collieflowers · 24/01/2018 15:29

Christ, I have no idea how I did that. I only pressed it once. Sorry.

Auldspinster · 24/01/2018 15:33

I'm in.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 24/01/2018 16:00

I'd be up for meeting beforehand but would like to get there quite early. Anyone who's up for it is v welcome to message me.

Throughtheforest · 24/01/2018 19:13

Collieflowers - maybe we can keep in touch about taking DCs? I'd rather the DCs learn the reality of this now, rather than find out about it when they're subjected to brainwashing at uni. They're the generation that will really be damaged by what is happening. Maybe we have a responsibility to try to explain the truth to them. Please pm me if you'd like to. I won't force them to go - so may just go on my own. Still under discussion.

Nineteenagain · 24/01/2018 19:22

SuperLoudPoppingAction
Me too. Will likely be in Edinburgh about 17.30. Maybe those who want to meet can pm each other with a place?

collieflowers · 25/01/2018 18:59

Throughtheforest
I've just realised that as it's on a Wednesday I won't be able to bring dd anyway as she'll be at college. But I think I'm still going to have some sort of conversation with her, I have no idea what she knows or thinks about the issue and I think it's maybe important I get in first. Though I can imagine listening to friends or listening to your boring old fart of a mother is probably not much of a competition.

Freshlylaidterf · 25/01/2018 19:01

Name changed. Looking forward to it.
