Break it down for me?

1000 replies

TortiousTortoise · 20/01/2018 22:16

Hi all, I am fairly new to the discussion on the impact that transwomen are having on women generally and I want to more fully understand the issues (been trying to talk to my husband about it and am struggling to articulate it).

I feel so awkward writing about this as I definitely don't want to come across as sounding horrible about transpeople, I just want to understand.

Also there are a lot of acronyms being thrown about. Can anyone help me out?

Bumpety-bump for the Sunday morning crowd.

If you are new to the board and want to find out more about why those who want to close down discussion are targeting Mumsnet advertisers, start at about the top.

Butterisbest · 24/10/2019 23:37

Giving this another bump, I've seen it's been linked in a new thread.
So I'm just coming back to revisit

TinselAngel · 25/10/2019 09:08

I can't find the blog under a similar title

Good insights into autogynaphilia from page 2

Thanks back, I meant to do it earlier and was sidelined.

That thread is an absolute must read.

Bump

Only got to page two so far....

Head blown 😱

I am new to all this

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 14:52

There has just been another thread, with lots of valuable information about autogynephilia, removed by MNHQ.

A thread, on FWR, but trending on the main boards, where several posters expressed shock at the antics of Yaniv and co, and hadn't heard about it.

People are seriously invested in making sure as few women as possible know about it.

ThePurported · 22/12/2019 15:16

People are seriously invested in making sure as few women as possible know about it.

After the initial shock about all the other stuff, that was the biggest realisation for me. That and the way our institutions - the police, the NHS, schools, the women's sector, etc. - have been captured by this movement. Anyone who thinks that 'let's be kind' is the answer is deluding themselves.

Habbers · 22/12/2019 15:53

It's true. It's deliberate and it's happening. Every thread on FWR that addresses AGP gets shut down. They are massively targeted.

LangCleg · 22/12/2019 16:09

Every thread on FWR that addresses AGP gets shut down. They are massively targeted.

Every. Single. One.

And every single one also has a bunch of women with scales falling from eyes.

This must not be allowed.

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 16:51

Suppressing talk on the subject of autogynephilia is not good for anyone.

I assume that I am within the guidelines to post this blog that was written by a transsexual woman. We wouldn't want to be transphobic, and suppress the writings of trans people, would we?

Billy21 · 22/12/2019 17:11

I was following the other thread when was removed. Compared with what I have read on other forums and Twitter, I considered the content uncontroversial. In my opinion, its disappearance is a disgrace and anti-women. All that was missing was a notice to say that women must be kind, gentle, caring, put up with anything for the sake of men's feelings.

Sillyolme · 22/12/2019 17:52

I'm the author of the linked essay on autogynephilia. Transwomen, both hsts and agp who attempt to write about autogynephilia are just as suppressed, perhaps even more so, given that doxxing and outing one as trans, especially for hsts that are deep stealth, is the constant threat should one break the silence and write about the subject in an honest manner. Here is a link to another essay I wrote ten years ago:

www.transkids.us/invisible.html

And the aftermath of having written that essay:

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 21:34

Ah, Sillyolme, I knew you were on here. I'm v grateful to you for your essay, I found it linked on Mumsnet and bookmarked it, because I think everyone should read it. It's enlightening.

I'm sorry you get suppressed, and the threat of doxxing too - I just don't know how this is acceptable to anybody, least of all transactivists.

UpfieldHatesWomen · 22/12/2019 21:51

I copied and pasted the AGP thread from today before it was deleted. I'm wondering if I should post it somewhere. I find it shocking that women's voices are being suppressed from talking about it in this way.

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 22:00

Lots of women shared their experiences on that thread Upfield - I was fairly pissed off it was all deleted. I wonder where we can talk about this - obviously not on here.

LangCleg · 22/12/2019 22:36

Are you on Spinster or Glindr? You could post it there.

theflushedzebra · 22/12/2019 22:38

Ooh is everyone on Glindr, what's it like? I'm mainly a MNetter, but could join up there...

UpfieldHatesWomen · 22/12/2019 23:15

I'll look into Glindr and Spinster. It's a shame they deleted it from here because it has more chance of making those who've never heard of AGP aware of it. Of course, we all know that's exactly why it was deleted.

LangCleg · 22/12/2019 23:17

Let me know if you do (you should probably remove the usernames?)

UpfieldHatesWomen · 22/12/2019 23:35

Ah, I see. OK, will do.
