No request for ID and no reason given. Just a GFM email to say a refund has been issued.

I was told on Friday that I had 48 hrs to provide ID or they would refund, so one of the refunds is probably mine.

And another one for a fiver.

And another £35.

I made a couple of donations - one anonymously, and one under a made up name I use for FB feministy and stalky stuff (that is also the name of a 90's obscure band) - both got refunded and I was barred from donating again.

Makes no sense to be refunding anonymous ones. No sense at all.

I made two donations, they have refunded the bigger one which is the one that was donated anonymously and left the one I did under the pseudonym.

I'm not going to point it out as they might refund that one and block me (I actually might be blocked, I haven't tried to redonate yet).

This is the bit I am definitely having issues with tbh. How can they block people from redonating anon (even though it seems they are refunding anon ones now too )

I think its almost certain that they have someone working for them that is a TRA, from this post tbh. No reason at all to be refunding anon donations. Especially with it being the bigger one that was refunded..I wonder if they are blocking all larger donations now. Did the 500 from last night ever get added to the total does anyone know? Bet thats refunded too.

They clearly don't have a set policy and are making this up as they go along and they clearly are taking a partisan stance regarding the campaign.

Oh well, fuck em. Three people who I have told about how they have been trying to shut this down have all donated, all three of them would have probably not bothered if it was simply about the AWS thing so they are well and truly shooting themselves in the foot. Even if they close the whole campaign down, there are other platforms and I reckon it would just light an even bigger fire under those that see the injustice in this. .

I'm sure, if they can, then they will have refunded that one.

I think JJ should end this campaign, withdraw the refunds and restart it on a less women hating more trustworthy platform.

TBF to Gofundme, I'm quite impressed that they haven't just refunded the whole lot, and closed the campaign for being hate speech or something.

This is just annoying people and getting them more determined.

I'm not a member of the Labour Party and haven't voted for them in many years, however I've been quietly donating small amounts. This is too important.

It took 4 days for the first donation to be refunded so will just wait and see what happens. Can't believe they wouldn't accept a donation from Ada Lovelace!

I posted the 'Urgent phishing email' a few days ago and today I've had an identical email from gofund me with requests for ID and any links I might have to social media re the campaign. !
What is going on ?

I find it really scary and sobering that very clearly freedom of expression and thought do not apply when it comes to trans-issues. When I scroll through the donations on the GoFundMe page the vast majority are anonymous and I would surmise this is because donors fear the consequences (oft seen on Twitter etc) of donating in their own name. It is particularly ironic, not to mention frightening, that the issue has arisen in the context of the representation of the female sex on one of our two largest political parties in a, supposedly, democratic country.
