Lily Madigan and Aisling Musson are asking for 'screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour' so they can make Labour 'a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.' In other words, doxxing people so they can be thrown out of the party for gender-critical views.

The group write-up is:

A group formed to oppose the rising tide of Transphobia in the UK Labour Party and to seek to make the Party a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.

PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST

If you have screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour please put them in the google drive folder rather than offloading them straight into the group as it may otherwise be overwhelming and trans members should have the option to not have to look at upsetting comments.

Do not add anyone unless you are sure that they:

  1. Are a member of the Labour Party
  2. Believe the basis of gender is self-definition
  3. Think that transphobia is grounds for expulsion from the party
  4. Respect the autonomy of trans people to direct the fight against transphobia (I.e will not take decisions against the will of trans people)

If you are a trans and/or non binary person and you would like to be added to the secret group (trans/nb people only) please message lily madigan or aisling musson and we will add you.

Rules:

  • No advocacy for violence, threats of violence of other illegal acts (quite apart from the morality of it, please do not get this group shut down)
  • This is a not a discourse group. If you do not agree that transphobia is bad, that the Labour party has it and that we should fight it, this is not a group for you.
  • Be respectful. As far as possible, please always be friendly, respectful and comradely and treat others as you would wish to be treated.
-No members of other parties.
  • TERF is not a slur.

Hmm I've had a post deleted on this thread and I don't think I've been offensive. Is there a way I can find out my crime?

ShoesHaveSouls · 23/01/2018 18:43

catgirl, did you link to the gofundme?

catgirl1976 · 23/01/2018 18:53

No, I didn't link it

Maybe I was offensive - if so apologies to anyone to whom I caused offence...it's not like me

ShoesHaveSouls · 23/01/2018 18:56

You can email MNHQ, they'll tell you.

Maryz · 23/01/2018 19:00

Report the deleted post catgirl, and they will send you back a copy of it.

catgirl1976 · 23/01/2018 19:09

Thanks both - I'll drop them a line and see what I said ;0

Check out the bit about disability and BAME... Angry

MaximumVolume · 23/01/2018 20:43

Isn't that from last week, though?

Ereshkigal · 23/01/2018 20:49

It is. But it shows their batshit reasoning.

Geronimoleapinglizards · 23/01/2018 20:53

Self-identify as BAME or disabled? What the.....? They have completely lost the plot.

catgirl1976 · 23/01/2018 21:13

I think if and when they start saying people can self id as BAME then this really will go mainstream and get shut down very quickly. And even some of the right on brocialists will no doubt realise just how wrong that is. Whether they will finish the maths to realise they reason they are ok with people self identifying as women but not as being black is their raging misogyny I'm not so sure..

I had linked to the fundraiser by mistake hence the deleted post so I'm glad to know I hadn't been rude Grin

KillDora · 23/01/2018 21:22

Oh fabulous. I'm black and disabled.

Can I identify out of being disabled now? Excellent.

And my stepsister will be thrilled that she can now identify as black, she always said she loved and wanted my skin when she was little.

(well, it sounded more adorable when she said it, less serial killer Grin)

Battleax · 23/01/2018 21:24

Dora 😂@ @less serial killer".

But, yep, golden ticket. I'm busy designing my new self now, in crayon 😊 It's all too much choice.

catgirl1976 · 23/01/2018 21:26

I've now got wings. They are quite fabulous. Also I don't have to go to work tomorrow as I have identified as rich. If someone doesn't put several million in my account tomorrow and buy me a mansion it's literal violence.

KillDora · 23/01/2018 21:29

Would it work if I started identifying as 'the boss' at work? Or is it only physical features we are allowed to pretend we have?

In that case dibs on giant bull horns.

AnachronisticCorpse · 23/01/2018 21:31

It’s a shame the PIP/ ESA assessors aren’t on board with the whole self ID concept.

It would save a lot of form filling and stress.

KillDora · 23/01/2018 21:33

I actually have a tribunal coming up.

I can tell them that I now identify as someone that isn't going to have to fight with the DWP for what I am entitled to every three years.

BelligerentGardenPixies · 23/01/2018 21:38

Sad Killdora.

On an up note, I now identify as 9 stone and hawt and if my motherfukin scales or mirror disagree, am gonna smash them to pieces for literally killing me.

Bearsinmotion · 23/01/2018 21:39

I can identify as non disabled?! Why did nobody tell me this before?!

The LDs are much more 'progressive' on 'trans age' as a concept than Labour. They are already on the case with it. Their current Youth Spokesman is Lord Storey. He's 68.

Here's a couple of quotes from him

"I don't think age matters, I think it's your experience and your ability to connect on certain issues."

And

I don't think we should be ageist. I have a daughter who is at university, I was a head teacher of two schools for 20 years, so I know young people inside out.

In the context of 'trans age' it does make those attempts at political spin look particularly poor.

I’m finally getting me some bad ass cornrows. Yas!

SonicBoomBoom · 23/01/2018 23:12

God dammit. I have spent all bloody day on twitter and somehow I missed seeing that the NEC had pulled the statement about self-identity. I was still waiting for it. Thought it hopeful that it was so late because they must be doing a lot of talking.

Pish.

MothQuandary · 23/01/2018 23:23

To the people ridiculing the idea of self-ID’ing for BAME - how do you suggest it’s done then?! There’s no test for race. It’s not the same as sex, which is obviously either M or F and listed on your birth certificate.
