Lily Madigan and Aisling Musson are asking for 'screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour' so they can make Labour 'a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.' In other words, doxxing people so they can be thrown out of the party for gender-critical views.

The group write-up is:

A group formed to oppose the rising tide of Transphobia in the UK Labour Party and to seek to make the Party a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.

PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST

If you have screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour please put them in the google drive folder rather than offloading them straight into the group as it may otherwise be overwhelming and trans members should have the option to not have to look at upsetting comments.

Do not add anyone unless you are sure that they:

  1. Are a member of the Labour Party
  2. Believe the basis of gender is self-definition
  3. Think that transphobia is grounds for expulsion from the party
  4. Respect the autonomy of trans people to direct the fight against transphobia (I.e will not take decisions against the will of trans people)

If you are a trans and/or non binary person and you would like to be added to the secret group (trans/nb people only) please message lily madigan or aisling musson and we will add you.

Rules:

  • No advocacy for violence, threats of violence of other illegal acts (quite apart from the morality of it, please do not get this group shut down)
  • This is a not a discourse group. If you do not agree that transphobia is bad, that the Labour party has it and that we should fight it, this is not a group for you.
  • Be respectful. As far as possible, please always be friendly, respectful and comradely and treat others as you would wish to be treated.
-No members of other parties.
  • TERF is not a slur.

Lurker delurking. I am not a Labour voter but believe when it comes to something this serious (GRA and this secret FB page) we all need to come together. Tribal loyalties won't help us on an issue this serious, so I stand with my Labour sisters.

DonkeySkin · 22/01/2018 17:05

I think it defeats our purposes to always be on the defensive, countering their lies. We should stick to what we do mean otherwise onlookers will get really confused.

Guardian, yes, this is absolutely crucial. Otherwise the debate just takes place within the manipulative terms that trans activists have dictated. Feminists need to go on the offensive rather than the defensive and start framing the debate on our terms.

That WPUK flyer does that brilliantly. Notice that it never once mentions 'transwomen' and doesn't waste space on disclaimers about not being transphobic. It keeps the focus squarely on sexism, sex being a protected characteristic and the reason for the existence of all women short lists in the first place. Very smart.

Lily's total unsuitability for such a role can't be blamed on age alone.

Here's another 20 year old politician - worlds apart, wouldn't you agree?

DonkeySkin · 22/01/2018 17:08

Sorry, that's the WPUK flyer posted by Ekphrasis on p.20.

BelaLugosisShed · 22/01/2018 17:16

The person suspended from Labour is Venice, I doubt she will mind me posting because she’s shouting all over facebook about it.

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 17:30

Will check out her twitter instead of asking you more questions then. Thanks

Deadlylampshade · 22/01/2018 17:35

Do you have a link to her twitter?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 22/01/2018 17:36

Can't see anything about it on either of her twitter accounts, or FB

TheCopyist · 22/01/2018 17:47

It's just struck me. Malala Yousafzai is also 20.

BelaLugosisShed · 22/01/2018 17:49

It’s gone from Facebook Confused

crunchymint · 22/01/2018 17:50

Does anyone have links to this list?

BelaLugosisShed · 22/01/2018 17:52

Hitlist thread has it.

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 22/01/2018 17:57

Venice was kicked out of a Labour Christmas party because of persons unknown (probably Lily) saying they didn't feel safe with her there.

Are you sure that incident is not being confused with this issue?

Venice's twitter account: twitter.com/DrRadfem

crunchymint · 22/01/2018 17:59

Thanks, and yes Venice has been suspended from the Labour Party for "transphobia"

DaisyDrip · 22/01/2018 18:01

Wow, just wow!

I suspect this is going to backfire big time.

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 18:02

Is she still on here? @DRRADFEM ??

crunchymint · 22/01/2018 18:03

Apparently they are considering suspending others for the same reason, with a view to expelling them from the party.

horseyhorsey17 · 22/01/2018 18:09

One of the women on that list has now been suspended from the Labour party. It looks very much as if the suspension is on the 'evidence' collated by this FB group.

Disgraceful. The McCarthyism is terrifying.

horseyhorsey17 · 22/01/2018 18:10

Ahh I see Venice's name has been mentioned.

BelaLugosisShed · 22/01/2018 18:20

I wonder if they will suspend J.James ?

Nothing would surprise me at this point to be honest. I really think they will go the self-id route for AWS now 😡

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 22/01/2018 18:21

Apparently they are considering suspending others for the same reason, with a view to expelling them from the party

This is getting very interesting.

On the one side you have Labour suspending people on the basis of evidence obtained by TRAs

On the other you have Labour members lawyering up because of the collation of their data in this manner.

Interesting times ahead.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 22/01/2018 18:21

crunchymint really? How do you know? (genuinely interested - not saying you’re a liar as I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised!)

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 18:25

I cannot see anything on Venices twitter about that. Sorry got distracted by the many eloquent posts by radfems on there and now have followed about another 20 Grin

Labour cannot be expelling women on the basis of those files. No way. If they are, they are completely over. I hope some of the women on the list do actually take legal advice over the data protection issues involved in adding the membership numbers to the spreadsheet.

MonaTheMoaner · 22/01/2018 18:25

I’m genuinely concerned about the Labour leadership right now. What would you like them to be doing? Do you think they’ll be investigating behind the scenes right now?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 22/01/2018 18:25

I hope some of the women on the list do actually take legal advice

Some of them say they are.
