Labour Against Transphobia Facebook group

Lily Madigan and Aisling Musson are asking for 'screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour' so they can make Labour 'a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.' In other words, doxxing people so they can be thrown out of the party for gender-critical views.

The group write-up is:

A group formed to oppose the rising tide of Transphobia in the UK Labour Party and to seek to make the Party a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.

PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST

If you have screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour please put them in the google drive folder rather than offloading them straight into the group as it may otherwise be overwhelming and trans members should have the option to not have to look at upsetting comments.

Do not add anyone unless you are sure that they:

  1. Are a member of the Labour Party
  2. Believe the basis of gender is self-definition
  3. Think that transphobia is grounds for expulsion from the party
  4. Respect the autonomy of trans people to direct the fight against transphobia (I.e will not take decisions against the will of trans people)

If you are a trans and/or non binary person and you would like to be added to the secret group (trans/nb people only) please message lily madigan or aisling musson and we will add you.

Rules:

  • No advocacy for violence, threats of violence of other illegal acts (quite apart from the morality of it, please do not get this group shut down)
  • This is a not a discourse group. If you do not agree that transphobia is bad, that the Labour party has it and that we should fight it, this is not a group for you.
  • Be respectful. As far as possible, please always be friendly, respectful and comradely and treat others as you would wish to be treated.
-No members of other parties.
  • TERF is not a slur.

Sterling work Hammer, but just make sure you’re prioritising yourself here.

Don’t burnout Flowers

I know hackmum. The lack of SEEING is extraordinary and infuriating.

And it's obviously more than just not giving a shiny one about women because women who do care are acting blind too. Although I don't doubt that for some of them it will be out of (understandable) self-preservation. I'm praying that they are just biding their time until there is a general widespread peak transing and then the sensible grown-up women will come in and tidy the mess away (because I don't doubt for a second that it will be for women to tidy up after the TIMs).

Popchyk · 22/01/2018 14:39

I was interested to see a tweet from Adrie Van der Meer (friend of Lily Madigan and generally troubled individual) to Stella Creasy saying "Love you Stella. Will make sure Momentum send lots and lots of group troops to canvass for you". I genuinely think he imagines that he is boss of Momentum and he can command troops to do his will.

I think Labour really need to look at themselves. When you invite extremists into the tent, they think they own the tent. And good luck trying to get them to leave the tent quietly.

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 14:46

Troops? It's not a stratocracy yet!! Shock

bellabelly · 22/01/2018 14:46

Haven't read full thread (ploughing through - on p8 at the mo) but just wanted to say thanks to all of you for making me aware of this situation. It is unbelievable - all of it. I feel like the world has quietly gone mad when I wasn't looking. So glad there are women like you lot who aren't just going to put up with this nonsense!

It's taking me ages to read because I keep getting distracted by all the interesting twitter links - am now following a very interesting bunch of strong, opinionated women so that's one good side effect! Grin

MrWriter · 22/01/2018 14:50

I had a quick look at LM's twitter account, the hypocrisy and general lunacy drives me mad. As other have said one minute going after people then the next playing the little girl card. Ugh.

As others have said I find it fairly ridiculous that LM was too skint to pay for their UCAS application but can afford to get a team of lawyers after all those nasty ladies picking on him.

Howyoualldoworkme · 22/01/2018 14:59

Ok, delurking. I lured Hammer over here with promises of cats. And because I know what a brilliant and fair person she is when she has a great cause.

I've only recently started reading the Feminism boards. I've recently retired and I guess I've tra la la'd through a relatively easy life.

But my eyes have been opened in a very big way and I'd really like to say I admire you lot and your knowledge. One of the reasons that I haven't posted much is because although I am very well read on a number of subjects and worked for over 30 years in a University, this hasn't really been on my radar.
So I was afraid of making stupid comments.

To the poster who was talking about persuading lurkers, you have done and hopefully will continue to do so.

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/01/2018 15:06

Glad Guido has picked this up now. He also covered Germaine Greers no platforming. The site is read by everyone involved in politics from MPs to civil servants.
Hope it gets enough interest to be featured in the Saturday 7 Up.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 22/01/2018 15:08

Welcome How
Don't be afraid of posting. There are no 'stupid' comments in this subject because the vast majority of it is beyond stupid. You do have to ask sometimes because it is all such a headfuck that a logical brain can't accept that people actually believe this guff.

But they do.

Hope more lurkers delurk - come out! come out!

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 15:11

The comments on the guido article are moving really fast!

EamonnWright · 22/01/2018 15:12

There are a lot of people being peak transed on the comments of the Guido article.

user1487064897 · 22/01/2018 15:17

Just want to say good on you Hammer I have been on twitter a bit today and there is plenty of outrage.
I couldn't help pointing out that if LM did collect the labour party members details using the labour party database, without the permission of The Labour or the people who's data has been collected, then it is LM and who ever else that lookup or extracted data who will be held responsible. ico.org.uk/action-weve-taken/enforcement/linda-reeves/
At the moment the fines are pretty small but come May-18 you could be looking at some serious penalties.

RedToothBrush · 22/01/2018 15:19

Do guido articles usually get quite so many comments in such a short space of time? 255 in an hour is pretty impressive

Pretty standard for Guido tbh.

As for the love in for Stella, my sibling's ex was a something else. Worshipped my mum, and dismissed my alpha male husband as a transphobe before we even knew never mind met them. The jeckyl and hyde personality being at the same dinner table was incredible. We literally could not say a word without a nasty comment thrown in. My mum was the best thing ever.

It was a shock but I have seen come to the conclusion its a manifestation of a chip on the shoulder and deep insecurity and this need to make it into 'them and us' and consequently isnt something restricted just to this one individual.

It has a name btw and is associated with propaganda and cultist behaviour:

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_bombing

Gingernaut · 22/01/2018 15:44

At least one of the names in the evidence folder has been suspended from the Labour Party.

#notmyparty

GrimDamnFanjo · 22/01/2018 15:45

If you have a Twitter account please consider retweeting Guidos tweet re their article.

Hammerofthetwat · 22/01/2018 15:46

Liddle is doing it for the Speccy. Boom! When my grand cats ask me what I did in the Culture Wars of 2018, I can answer with pride. I tweeted some shit.

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 15:47

Sorry, what?! Where did you see that? Shock
(I was just on Twitter, didn't see anything there)
(Oh, apart from Lily Allen retweeting poor LM's "the world is out to get me" post)

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/01/2018 15:49

Too many Lilys! Madigan, Maynard, Allen ...

catgirl1976 · 22/01/2018 15:52

I've had a reply to my formal complaint to the Labour Party

They've said they are aware of the issue and investigating and will endeavour to get back to me with a response. I'm not holding my breath to be honest I think Lily and her friends will say it wasn't them and they were hacked etc and wriggle out of it

redshoeblueshoe · 22/01/2018 15:52

Bloody hell ginger

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 15:52

I call LM "Lily Maynard" at least once a week. Sorry ms Maynard!! Blush

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 15:53
MonaTheMoaner · 22/01/2018 15:55

Can anyone point me in the right place for the article?
