Labour Against Transphobia Facebook group

Lily Madigan and Aisling Musson are asking for 'screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour' so they can make Labour 'a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.' In other words, doxxing people so they can be thrown out of the party for gender-critical views.

The group write-up is:

A group formed to oppose the rising tide of Transphobia in the UK Labour Party and to seek to make the Party a truly safe space for all members regardless of their gender identity or lack thereof.

PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST

If you have screenshots and evidence of transphobic behaviour please put them in the google drive folder rather than offloading them straight into the group as it may otherwise be overwhelming and trans members should have the option to not have to look at upsetting comments.

Do not add anyone unless you are sure that they:

  1. Are a member of the Labour Party
  2. Believe the basis of gender is self-definition
  3. Think that transphobia is grounds for expulsion from the party
  4. Respect the autonomy of trans people to direct the fight against transphobia (I.e will not take decisions against the will of trans people)

If you are a trans and/or non binary person and you would like to be added to the secret group (trans/nb people only) please message lily madigan or aisling musson and we will add you.

Rules:

  • No advocacy for violence, threats of violence of other illegal acts (quite apart from the morality of it, please do not get this group shut down)
  • This is a not a discourse group. If you do not agree that transphobia is bad, that the Labour party has it and that we should fight it, this is not a group for you.
  • Be respectful. As far as possible, please always be friendly, respectful and comradely and treat others as you would wish to be treated.
-No members of other parties.
  • TERF is not a slur.

Tony Blair’s step mother has just messaged and said she should be on the list! Hahaha. This is getting big. Good.

Collidascope · 22/01/2018 13:51

Aye, Rod Liddle hates women, doesn't he? I wonder what slant he'll put on it.
Well done for getting it out there though, Hammer.

BeyondWW · 22/01/2018 13:52

Actually I'm enjoying the comments on guido now... Wink

Hammerofthetwat · 22/01/2018 13:52

He’s messaging me. Facebook is where I have all my connections. So if I come across fuckery, I post it and wait for bites. Francis Wheen is interested too.

horseyhorsey17 · 22/01/2018 13:53

Hammer, the Tories are making an embarrassing dog's dinner out of Brexit so they are dead to me too. Plus my MP is a Tory and utterly loathsome. I'd have to be under some pretty bad torture to be persuaded to vote for him. God, politics is depressing right now.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 22/01/2018 13:55

Hammer
What about Andrew Gilligan from the Times? He is def GC and has written a few articles on it

Hammerofthetwat · 22/01/2018 13:56

My labour MP is a scrote. And I wanted to protest vote against labour. I hate racism, and I’ve seen too much in the party. Labour would fuck up brexit more. Corbyn has wanted Brexit since he was elected an MP. He’s a Bennite. That’s their MO.

Hammerofthetwat · 22/01/2018 13:56

I’m hoping Rod will take to the Times and Speccy for me.

terryleather · 22/01/2018 13:57

I thibk it’s very telling that people say ‘but this only affects a tiny amount of the population’ as though women can’t be affected. It can’t possibly be that this affects more that half the population as only the trans people count.

Deadly this is what jumped out at me as well, so many bloody men blinded by male entitlement that they just don't/can't/won't see that this will affect all women, even if it won't affect them.

It's like they don't fucking see us, they only see the men even if those men are wearing dresses and proclaiming to be women.

Angry Angry Angry

Anlaf · 22/01/2018 13:58

Just coming on here to agree with everyone that political beliefs are "sensitive personal data" and need additional consent/care when you hold them and do stuff with them.

More here ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-data-protection/conditions-for-processing/

I would imagine the ICO will be very unimpressed.

We hold sensitive personal data in my work and the thought of my company doing this kind of thing (via human error) gives me a shudder, far less someone collating and publishing this data on the interwebs deliberately

Adrifty86 · 22/01/2018 14:01

I usually also avoid the comments under Guido but I'm actually glad of them this time.

It's when men like this realise that it's actually their sisters/wives/mothers/daughters who will never win at sport again, who will have to share maternity wards and toilets with aroused men in dresses etc. that the real push for change will come.

It's sad but it's true...

AnachronisticCorpse · 22/01/2018 14:01

It’s because men know men do everything better than women, and that includes being women.

nauticant · 22/01/2018 14:03

If there are two messages I'd suggest you try to get across Hammerofthetwat, they are:

  1. the problem has arisen because of the push for self-ID ("I'm a lay-dee!"); and
  2. it's not just Labour who have been captured by this madness, the Tories were (are?) keen to push through the GRA amendments without proper thought.
Vicxy · 22/01/2018 14:04

I wonder if this will end up having to show up in the Guardian, if most other places run it..obviously with the slant of its all the nasty terfs in the wrong, though I think they would struggle to blame this on women who have not actually done anything and are having their names and membership numbers broadcast to the world..

AnachronisticCorpse · 22/01/2018 14:04

Men don’t see us. Women are largely irrelevant to many men. Good for fucking and cleaning and breeding and not much else.

Even the best of men see ‘man’ as default human being. The trans agenda is a logical extension of that. Men are just better at everything, you see, and that includes being women.

AnachronisticCorpse · 22/01/2018 14:05

Sorry for repeating, the internet ate my previous post.

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 14:06

1) the problem has arisen because of the push for self-ID ("I'm a lay-dee!"); and
2) it's not just Labour who have been captured by this madness, the Tories were (are?) keen to push through the GRA amendments without proper thought.

Yes, these are both important. Especially the bit about the Tories being on board with the madness. As if they do push through this law change, literally any man can legally 'change sex'..many criminals will take advantage of that as 'changing sex' legally will mean if/when they are caught, they will be sent to a female prison as prison guidelines ridiculously state that anyone with a GRC goes to the prison of their 'legal sex', regardless of if these people with GRAs have penises or vaginas.

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 14:08

Do guido articles usually get quite so many comments in such a short space of time? 255 in an hour is pretty impressive

Vicxy · 22/01/2018 14:10

New statesman might possibly run this too.

Collidascope · 22/01/2018 14:16

Yes, Helen Lewis is pretty gender critical. She and Owen Jones are always having ding dongs about it on Twitter.

BamburyFuriou3 · 22/01/2018 14:17

I know it's probably irrelevant to the way that thread is now going, but I'm deeply ashamed that my TRA family member appears to be involved, according to some screenshots upthread. My family member also regularly threatens self harm and suicide to the point I had to block them in FB for my own self preservation ( sent the police on welfare checks after a few suicide posts when they failed to answer phone etc, and got a torrent of abuse for my care).
My family member has also insisted on being on a female MH ward despite not "passing" in the slightest.
If my family member is representative of the type of person we are dealing with they are narcissistic (in denial of this and claims everyone else is narcissistic), manipulative, always the worst victim, always the most "fragile", always has some new issue. Also ASD. And very very plausible until you are in too deep. Has also rewritten history to support their story.

Yes I'm a hard hearted bitch :(

hackmum · 22/01/2018 14:24

Beachcomber: "Do Labour really want a bunch of self aggrandizing narcissistic entitled and deluded social justice warriors crashing about the place alienating core voters?"

Apparently, yes. What gets me about this is the SHEER FUCKING STUPIDITY OF IT ALL. People like Madigan et all are so obviously misogynistic men who are trying to sabotage women's rights from within that it's incomprehensible to me that people like Stella Creasey and Angela Eagle can't see it. Madigan isn't even competent - he is quite clearly an idiot without even the nous to disguise what he's trying to do.

How come supposedly educated, intelligent feminists like Creasey, Eagle et al so utterly brain dead on this one issue?

Sorry to detract from the Guido discussion, but this is the only place I can rant.

AnachronisticCorpse · 22/01/2018 14:25

I have never come across a trans male who isn’t either a narcissistic shit bag or a deeply damaged individual. I want to know why this isn’t talked about and acknowledged? Why are we not calling it what it is, a mental disorder?

Lily is a young adult with an attachment disorder and cripplingly low self esteem who realised hanging his pink hat on the Trans train bought him attention and an audience. I don’t for a second believe he has any kind of dysmorphia.

BamburyFuriou3 · 22/01/2018 14:30

My family member may well be damaged. I am not without my own issues (anorexia, depression, anxiety - and a a rather loud inner bitch Grin) but I own them. I face up to my mistakes, not hide behind my issues.

Hammerofthetwat · 22/01/2018 14:35

Okay, I really need a sleep. Journalists angle will be the GRA is bad. I know most of the people I’m working with and trust them. And we have plenty of Male allies. Loads in fact. Guido comments are a bit la la, a bit like any political extreme. This is all good. Helen Lewis would be great. I have a few pals at the NS, so I’ll wait for those lazy buggers to wake up and get back to me. xx
