Good news, presumably?
I want to know where that leaves a certain womens officer, surely that ruling counts for every Labour post?

Yes, exactly. This hasn't come from nowhere.

The first time that a man pitched up and asked about taking up a space intended for women then someone should have said "No, these are for women-only. Feel free to apply for one of the thousands of positions that are open to both sexes".

Terrylene · 21/01/2018 11:47

I think they will quietly shift to asking for birth certs for AWS as part of an id check (which begs the question why they aren't they doing this in the first place ) which will go as far as they absolutely have to so as not to be legally challenged, so maybe not down to constituency committee level. Then they will pretend none of this ever happened, and continue to say TW are W in public.

HemlockSpartacus · 21/01/2018 11:49

If they truly believe that trans people aren't getting proportionate representation, then why aren't there campaigns for All Trans Shortlists instead? Surely that would be more inclusive too, then all the transmen, gender fluid and non binary can get a look in?

I wonder what it is about TIM's that mean they seem to be centred in this over other trans groups? Hmm

Terrylene · 21/01/2018 12:10

If you turn any TIMs legally into female with self id, how are you ever going to know if there is proportionate (or disproportionate) representation anyway of trans anyway? Or female?

Snowdrop18 · 21/01/2018 13:20

Hemlock "Surely that would be more inclusive too, then all the transmen, gender fluid and non binary can get a look in?"

well of course they don't want that....

Vicxy · 21/01/2018 15:35

Even Jack Monroe says she has two different lawyers looking into this and both have indicated that there could be a case for legal action

Has she now, I doubt that went down too well Grin

Its obviously winnable. Thats been pretty clear from the start really. Its the reason TRAs are going into overdrive.

QuentinSummers · 21/01/2018 18:32

Stella Creasey has just retweeted Adrie Van Meer
Shock
There is no WAY I'm voting Labour with this going on.

OlennasWimple · 21/01/2018 18:35

Wait, what? Presumably Stella doesn't know who he is? Shock

ForalltheSaints · 21/01/2018 18:37

To me, someone who has undergone surgery and has a gender recognition certificate should be accepted as the new gender they wish to be. What I do not want is someone saying they identify, without having undergone surgery, as especially in places where changing of clothes takes place, this just opens the door to perverts.

jeaux90 · 21/01/2018 18:38

I'm blocked by Adrie Grin what was the tweet about?

Snowdrop18 · 21/01/2018 18:39

I'm confused
Jack Monroe's lawyers are talking about legal action to disbar TIM from women only shortlists?

QuentinSummers · 21/01/2018 18:40

I hope she doesn't olennas but it seems odd she wouldn't. At the same time him and Lily Madigan are running that doxxing/bullying Facebook group.
I feel so powerless

Battleax · 21/01/2018 18:40

I thought she was telling him off too (at least a bit of evenhandedness). He quoted her smackdown to the RadFems and said he'd send Momentum campaigning support in appreciation.

I'm trying to find it again to reread her reply.

Battleax · 21/01/2018 18:42

Well

Stella doesn't find the bayeux tapestry mock up amusing and said so. Adrian agreed, then Stella retweeted that agreement.

Stella Creasey has just retweeted Adrie Van Meer

This is after an afternoon of tweets on Hattie J's Bayeux tapestry

And a lot of debate. I think stella is a bit confused with all the info at the moment, but I am not sure she is going to sit down to a good read of all that she has been given, though Sad

EamonnWright · 21/01/2018 18:44

Is that the boy with the glasses and checked shirt?

Battleax · 21/01/2018 18:45

This is his tweet to her quoting her earlier tweet jeaux

irretating · 21/01/2018 18:57

Ah, the link to the tapestry has been posted already. I laughed.

EamonnWright · 21/01/2018 19:00

I only glanced at it but Stella seems to be using the Progressive word a lot. It seems to be used to shut folk up. If you're not progressive then you're regressive I suppose. What we are progressing to is anyone's guess right enough.

BarrackerBarmer · 21/01/2018 19:01

I love that tapestry.
Love the humour that women are capable of even whilst we're being stomped on.

Battleax · 21/01/2018 19:04

The opposition are all so completely humourless aren't they? Unless they're laughing about violence against "terfs". DIAF seems to amuse them sometimes.
