I know. He looks like he should be performing drag in Vegas rather than performing life changing operations on vulnerable people.

KennDodd · 11/01/2018 22:15

Many of my patients go to gynaecologists who don’t realise that they are trans women

Why would they be going to a gynaecologist?

Thehairthebod · 11/01/2018 22:16

Many of my patients go to gynaecologists who don’t realise that they are trans women. That’s the standard to which we push ourselves

What complete and utter BOLLOCKS.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 22:17

My thoughts exactly Kenn

It's not as if they're having a smear test or having a fucking coil fitted.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 22:22

It's so many kids of wrong, I don't even know where to begin...

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 22:22

*Kinds

Ereshkigal · 11/01/2018 22:25

If he is performing major cosmetic surgery on male people who are so delusional as to visit gynaecologists, he should be struck off.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 22:37

Any gynaecologist that can't tell the difference should be struck off.

Ereshkigal · 11/01/2018 22:57

Agree!

IrkThePurist · 11/01/2018 23:29

If he is lying to his patients then they haven't consented to treatment. TIMS need to have regular checks for penile cancer if they have an inverted penis that retains penile tissue, and they need to have prostate exams.

They dont need to waste the resources of an NHS gynecologist. I think his comments reflect a fantasy, not reality.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 23:34

It's a very lucrative fantasy Irk

IrkThePurist · 11/01/2018 23:40

I didn't think this was the situation in the UK, because I naively believed there was a minimum age for 'treating' children.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 11/01/2018 23:41

It's terrifying.

DeleteOrDecay · 12/01/2018 00:27

The comments on twitter are even more terrifying. So much fawning. How can people be so blind?

RagingWoman · 12/01/2018 14:40

Just watching this now.
My sympathy is MASSIVE for people who are so distressed by their bodies that theyre able to put themselves through such horrible invasive procedures. Those men having a make up session actually made me cry; they seemed very very vulnerable and were disproportionately grateful for this help.

But you know what? Those transwomen all came across as sensitive caring individuals who literally want to just live their lives as they feel is right. They seemed like the very last people likely to push their way in to, for example, womans sport, all-women shortlists, DV shelters.

It has made me properly realise that the activists that are swearing at us and no-platforming Germaine Greer are mostly NOT the tortured souls that will pay £000s for a slightly upturned nose in the desperate hope of 'passing' enough to get away with wearing dresses and not get ostracised.

Unfortunately most of the world will watch this and wonder how feminists could possibly be so cruel and TERFy to such genuinely nice and confused men. SadSad

Excellent article

RedToothBrush · 13/01/2018 00:25

The comment after that article is somewhat thought provoking:

You cannot be born in the wrong body unless you exist independently of your body. That means souls, sexed souls. This is a religion.

I have been on the waiting for 2 years now to see a gynecologist after a uterine prolapse after giving birth to my son. I fucking hope that transwomen are not going to see gynecologists. What a load of self absorbed shit.

And of course a gynecologist would be able to tell the difference between an inverterted penis or a hole made of colon..and a real vagina. What planet are these people on who say/believe this rubbish..

Glad I didn't watch this. Even reading little bits of it is giving me the rage.

AngryAttackKittens · 13/01/2018 06:43

Never underestimate the extent to which lying is inherent to narcissism. And I mean the doctor as well as the patients.

MacaroonMama · 13/01/2018 12:10

Who is giving their wombs to these men? Is that really happening? I honestly do not believe that is currently a viable way of having a baby. It is so complicated - conception, vast and complex hormone changes, carrying baby, delivering baby... I honestly think that man (only going on article, haven't watched programme) is talking utter bollix.

And as for the gynaes who can't tell a real vagina from a surgically created one? Nah don't believe it.

But others reading it will Sad

AngryAttackKittens · 13/01/2018 12:32

Apparently a lot of them wait until the wife is pregnant or has just given birth to tell her, because she's not likely to leave then, is she? But it's always presented as oh my ability to selflessly contain this stunning and brave part of myself has finally expired and I just have to do it. Now, while my wife is busy coping with a baby.

I've always suspect that in addition to wanting to make sure the wife is good and trapped there's an element of jealousy of all the attention that she/the baby are getting, given the frequency of narcissism in daddy transitioners.

pisacake · 13/01/2018 13:58

"Why would they be going to a gynaecologist?"

to be a perve. Same reason this child rapist wants feminine hygiene products

mimivanne · 13/01/2018 16:16

Brain just exploded

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 13/01/2018 16:25

Another one wondering why a trans woman would go to a gynaecologist.

And yes, what sort of gynaecologist world not recognise them as a trans woman.

Mind boggling.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 13/01/2018 16:26

Just how common are womb transplants?

Hmm
