Allegedly to celebrate 100 years of the female vote.

Preview info indicates that among the prospective female celebs are two TW. Do we think that the gender debate will be one of the topics discussed in there? And could it be a disaster for the GRA bill? Interested in hearing others' views!

(Also Katie Hopkins planned for it. Cant help hoping that she gets a bullied in there Grin)

I don't know, my guess is yes looking at the face which seems to have had a lot of surgery. India's Mum is surgery free looking, naturally beautiful and looks the same age.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 03/01/2018 10:41

yes i think india has said Willybyebye surgically.

Oooh I've been tempted for the first time to watch in many years.

Not cos it's women, but to see what c4 think is feminist.

Just tried googling to see where to watch online and found this article:

It's sponsored by 'pink casino'.

Is that face palm or reclaim pink?!

TunaSushi · 03/01/2018 18:09

Emma was wearing a link coat last night. I wondered why not a green and purple theme?

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 03/01/2018 22:25

I’m not watching but I’ve just seen on Twitter, in the moments section, the headline is “Viewers weren’t impressed with India’s remarks about RuPaul.”

JudgementalSquirrel · 05/01/2018 15:38

The line up for the men include a drag queen. How fabulous.

They will have their work cut out trying to bully and shame Ann about this. She doesn't really give a monkey's.

DeleteOrDecay · 05/01/2018 16:59

I was Angry when they announced an 'all female' house only to find her have a transwoman in there. It's not all female/all woman then is it.

Tempted to watch this so I can see how a transwoman thinks women act for myself. From what I've read he's not giving a good account of himself at all.

India gets cross with 82 year old Amanda Barrie

Terrylene · 05/01/2018 22:03

Ended up watching this for the first time.

India behaved very badly. Very ungracious.

Ann certainly knows when to shut up and let the other person rant - huge amount of respect for her experience as a politician. Would never have voted for her in a month of Sundays, but she certainly knows how to handle herself in the brave new world of reality TV.

Amanda was trying too hard, but her apology ended as a put down to India - much as my Grandma would have done. And yes, India should have a bit more respect for an 82 year old that has done a great deal. She lacks grace and empathy.

Thehairthebod · 05/01/2018 22:52

Just watched India'a tantrum on Twitter, oooh maybe she will help a few more to peak trans.

Feeling a bit nostalgic for the days of Nadia in BB (back when I actually watched it!) Did she endlessly go on about how she was a 'real woman' or did she just get on with things?

Ekphrasis · 05/01/2018 22:54

how a transwoman thinks women act for myself.

I have noticed India is frequently almost a caricature of 'a woman' in that some elements are over the top, stereotyped, bitchy pulling faces etc. Diary room (shaved) leg flaunting for example while all the other women have been sitting smartly. Of course, it could be as India is apparently a big fan of the show and hamming it up. And edits may not be at all flattering - Bb has been accused of this in the past.

It is a shame bb decided to do this as it may (is?) back fire on transpeople - the more normal, nice people who are proud of being trans. It's a shame some can't be proud to be who they are, are too ashamed that they need to get everyone to agree they're "real".

"Let me say that again so it penetrates your brain..." - IW. I found the word penetrate an unfortunate choice. Given it was said in the presence of a woman who dealt with terribly abused girls.

QuentinSummers · 05/01/2018 22:55

thehair I loved Nadia. Very genuine person and absolutely read as a woman.

Thehairthebod · 05/01/2018 22:55

And surely the reason that India is getting so upset is because she knows that she isn't a 'real woman' - it's almost like she is jealous of the rest of them and taking it out on them. It must be horrible to feel like that but not fair on the other women.

The others all seem like they couldn't really care less about India's 'gender identity', it's her thats making a huge deal.

Ekphrasis · 05/01/2018 22:56

No Nadia was proud to be trans from what I remember. I'm only aware of the "real women" thing recently. One of the last ones I watched.

QuentinSummers · 05/01/2018 22:58

Nadia wasn't out to the housemates though.
I just googled it and I loved that series of big brother.

Thehairthebod · 05/01/2018 22:59

Yes, I agree. She cannot change what she is, surely the best course of action is to own it and be proud of what she has been through, rather than screeching at everyone that they have to believe a total lie.

Obviously it's horrible to not be able to accept yourself even after transitioning, but then that's why I think that gender dysphoria should be treated in other ways other than transitioning and then trying to convince everyone that you are something you are not. It will never really work.

Thehairthebod · 05/01/2018 23:01

No Nadia was proud to be trans from what I remember.

Most 'old school transsexuals' were proud to be trans. I think this 'you must accept me as a real woman just like you' is quite new.

Ekphrasis · 05/01/2018 23:12

Gosh wasn't she? I don't remember that. I suppose it's all been heightened for India as she has been included in a 'women only' show and feels the need to therefore justify her place repeatedly. However, from what I've ever seen or heard of her that's what she does. All the time.

Ekphrasis · 05/01/2018 23:12

(To Quentin)

DeleteOrDecay · 05/01/2018 23:23

Oh I loved Nadia, she was so funny! Back when BB was actually good.

terfing · 05/01/2018 23:36

I remember Nadia- she was lovely and I voted for her to win. She was very considerate, funny, and a good housemate from what I remember.

Ereshkigal · 05/01/2018 23:41

I too remember Nadia quite fondly.

terfing · 06/01/2018 00:05

On a more positive note, I can see IW helping a lot of people reach peaktrans. I don't think he's doing the transgender community any favors here...
