Yes bad things have happened but the perpetrators are not Christian because they reject it's teachings- instead choosing to again do as they please! It's the people that are bad, and this is what true Christianity teaches. A lot of Christianity has been watered down to suit lefty trendy agendas- these people are adapting the religion to suit themselves and are therefore not true to the religion and have warped its meaning. It's not supposed to be some feel good religion, it's suppose to make us hold a mirror upto our selves and realise we are in fact bad, corrupt
and therefore keep check on ourselves.
We have done well under Christianity in our civilization and we're now to witness it unravel as we favour increasing secularism and will see increased narcissism as we come to the false conclusion that humans are good.

Sex between consenting adults for purposes other than procreation?

What would say is that we will see how this all unfolds, as we reject spirituality and humans do as they please- I suspect more of this total moral decline, a highly sexualised society- pornography, sex dolls, sexualising children and the rest. It's going to get worse because we have the mantra of "tolerance" without discernment.

No, the church has never promoted this rubbish- societies obsession with sex is a modern thing since we started to turn away from religion.
How can the church be "patriarchy" and also be against itself if these things are also patriarchy? How can two opposing thoughts be a symptom of the same thing "patriarchy"?
I think ul fing people were making money out of witch hunting, i.e. Matthew Hopkins. Christianity teaches not to kill and not to "cast stones". The main opposition to the witch hunts was a vicar, John Gaule who helped to end it.
The witch trials show again how humanity is inherently bad and it gets swept along with various trends that are "right at the time". It wasn't about religion it was about scape goating the problems of people onto a sector of society and making money off the back of it.

That's a bit harsh. U say there is no reasoning but I could say same to yoh.

Beside I'm not saying you have to go along with my belief.
I'm saying that in rejection of our Christian roots, we will regress and morality will change (in my opinion for the worse).
There is no doubt that our ideas about morality have changed since people turned from religion- now the test is, will it be for the better? Time will tell.

Religion did have a massive impact on what people used to believe was moral or right- that surely can be disputed?
So we've all but got rid of it, now we are left with replacing it. But as I said we'll see how it works out in the end. Look around you to see how it's going so far!
