Flowers to everyone. Gutted I can't make it tonight.

Mamaka · 17/01/2018 18:40

Devastated I can't go after all... my ex's car mysteriously broke down, today of all days, so he couldn't come and look after the dc while I attended the meeting. Maybe he is secretly a TRA?!

VivaLeBeaver · 17/01/2018 18:41

Not speaking then, but has helped organise it.

YassQueen · 17/01/2018 18:42

Hope it goes well tonight, have a good time everyone who's going.

Betti935 · 17/01/2018 18:47

4 Mumsnetters safely through the doors and into the meeting. People handing out leaflets outside but all pretty calm so far.

Are you there thecraftyfox? I would love to get a sense of how it is. Is it a big meeting?

Currently live on Twitter

Nobrain · 17/01/2018 20:16

I'm shit with Twitter, do you have a link per chance?

Nineteenagain · 17/01/2018 20:30

Interested to know how its going

athingthateveryoneneeds · 17/01/2018 20:31

I couldn't make it after all. Very interested in hearing how it went - no Twitter for me.

thecraftyfox · 17/01/2018 20:57

Room is full and extra seats opened! Over 150 people here, mostly women. Great speeches. The wonderful Jennifer James, the awesome Phillipa Molloy who spoke out in the Times this weekend are here and the many women speaking from the floor as well the speakers are so inspiring. I feel reinvigorated to fight this again after feeling very depressed post Madigan etc.

The fragrant Tara Hewitt is also here and was leafleting but has not said anything.

Nineteenagain · 17/01/2018 20:59

Sounds great. Good that theres no trouble from TRAs

cafeaulaitpourvous · 17/01/2018 20:59

I have been following the twitter feed whilst cooking a late tea (dh was stuck in the snow) ... looks like it was brilliant

redshoeblueshoe · 17/01/2018 21:24

I don't do twitter either, thanks to all who are posting from there. Are any local MP's there ?

busyboysmum · 17/01/2018 22:16

I invited my Labour MP but he declined. Was an inspiring meeting.

Doobigetta · 17/01/2018 22:22

I was there. I thought Bea and Christina were great, really interesting and inspiring. but I'm afraid Ruth Serwotka left me cold. Was it supposed to be a Labour party meeting? Because I am not a Labour voter, or a lefty, or a member of the working class, and I found the assumption that The Left own feminism very off-putting and irritating.

BubbleLamp · 17/01/2018 22:28

I was there. Less interested in the political side but found it really interesting and encouraging. I was wondering who the fellow mumsnetters were... Christina was spot on. Annoyed with the "self identifying woman" who piped up and stole the last question. Typical male privilege in action there...

busyboysmum · 17/01/2018 22:34

Labour have a massive problem within their party about this and it's looking as though that might be where the fight will be. It's looking likely that the Tories will quietly drop the plans for self id. But if Labour get in that will be one thing they will do. Labour seems to be very much influenced by trans women for some reason.

busyboysmum · 17/01/2018 22:34

Yes I couldn't even understand what that last person was saying.

Doobigetta · 17/01/2018 22:43

I was sitting quite close to the self-identifying person, and I'm not sure they were mtf- could easily have been ftm.

VivaLeBeaver · 17/01/2018 22:51

What was the twitter hashtag?

VivaLeBeaver · 17/01/2018 22:57

GHot it. #wpuk
