This is what it has come to. A women thrown out of a women's network party because of a man, or more accurately, a boy's feelings might be hurt. What the fuck is going on?

Lily says to do with radfems personal attacks on her/him. Drradfem replied to this something like 'sorry you weren't meant to see this'.

Whatever is going on the situation is insane.

I get the impression that many transactivists and Labour politicians think that self-identification of transwoman as women has already been passed as a new law in the UK. In the real world, however, it is actually still a proposal, currently in a consultation phase, which is a very early phase in the parliamentary law making process.

Is it official Labour party policy to believe that gender self-identification is already the law in the UK, and that a Gender Recognition Certificate is already no longer a legal requirement that must be obtained by a transgender-identifying male person to show that the goverment officially regards them as "legally" female?

Reading between the many lines, I think this must be what happened:

Venice took a selfie showing Lily in the background, intending to post it to a private Facebook group afterwards - presumably to illustrate that Lily was there. In this private Facebook group, someone else had made and posted the nasty meme calling Lily a dicksplash. Venice had replied to the meme posting, saying she thought that it was better to use formal Labour Party mechanisms to complain about Lily (Venice's suggestion was that the nasty meme could prompt Lily to up the ante by making some kind of "fake" suicide attempt).

Of course, someone inimical had infiltrated the Facebook group and made both the selfie and the meme public. I don't know why anybody trusts anything to private Facebook groups regarding trans issues. They always get infiltrated and the posts are never private.

In my view, the meme (and also the selfie, but less so) are over the line. It does the gender critical side no favours to be like this, even when we don't think anyone can see. It's just crude and low. And it certainly won't persuade the uncommitted.

I have asked this. More than once. Crickets in reply from any Labour figure.

christinarossetti · 12/12/2017 23:11

Where's the photo from ie who uploaded it and where?

Terrylene · 12/12/2017 23:15

Both the photos have been on Giuliana twitter for a while.

christinarossetti · 12/12/2017 23:18

Who's Giuliana?

BeyondAssignation · 12/12/2017 23:20

TRA transwoman. Retweeted a load of the doxxing tweets.
Speaking of which, I got a notification from twitter this afternoon that they didn't break guidelines. Hmm

christinarossetti · 12/12/2017 23:21

Thanks. What a shitstorm.

Agree with this.

Terrylene · 12/12/2017 23:28

I think Lang is right - it probably came from a facebook group. Venice did not make the meme - it was from someone with an obvious fake account that does a lot of this - she is basically saying L is fragile (or will go for that angle) go through the labour party and save the meme for the comedians.

Maryz · 12/12/2017 23:38

So if you post a meme on twitter (or call someone a dickhead), does that mean you are scary in real life?

That must rule most people out of being allowed to go anywhere.

Terrylene · 12/12/2017 23:44

She didn't even post it - it was someone else in a Facebook group. She replied to it, sort of telling this person not to. That is obviously worse than calling someone a dickhead Wink

FFS..... another fecking talking shop shitfest.
Do any of these networkers actually do anything politically useful to help the people they are claiming to represent?
A million miles away from some poor sod trying to get through a very cold week while waiting for her Universal Credit to get sorted.

pisacake · 12/12/2017 23:57

she said she introduced herself to Lily but the conversation didn't go too well. then she wanted a selfie with Lily but didn't want to ask because of the conversation. then she maybe posted it on Twitter before deleting it, but she's not too sure on this.

Also she was handing out GRA leaflets.

The Dicksplash meme seems to come from a super-secret unlisted Facebook group which the terfdox person appears to be an active member of and hence the source of all the doxxing.

pisacake · 13/12/2017 00:26

Meanwhile Lily has tweeted the doxxed meme

twitter.com/madigan_lily/status/940715799261728769

Lily's co-conspirator at kicking out Anne Ruzylo has been doing suicide threats on Twitter

twitter.com/adr1e/status/940378942959226880

Obviously Lily & friends will come out of this smelling of roses and the evil TERFs will be blamed for everything.

ladyballs · 13/12/2017 06:15

I can't link but the Daily Mail has picked up the story.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 13/12/2017 06:38

But hey nobody felt unsafe because of the Jimmy Savile tweet Hmm

What a place the labour party is at the moment.

Thisisouting · 13/12/2017 07:07

It was pointed out that this kind of meme shouldn't be posted online even in private groups as this kind of thing would happen and it was shouted down because free speech Hmm

it doesn't do the rad fem cause any favours and just gives the TRA ammunition to discredit us.

Lazylouse · 13/12/2017 07:19

Absolutely agree, that meme does just look like abuse to me, anyone who thinks Lily shouldn't be a women's officer needs to stick to facts to say so. In "private" or in public, it is all public really.

cafeaulaitpourvous · 13/12/2017 07:22

Is it me or is all this 'he said / she said'?

I work with children and I can see parallels ..... I don't think either side is too bright - someone with a half a brain will know you don't put anything on social media that can be used as evidence against you

The issue with women being erased is real - all this shit is just drama and childish

MrGHardy · 13/12/2017 07:26

WHat a little liar Liam is. First he posted he has no idea why Venice was removed and he wasn’t uncomfortable and now he was because of a private post but didn’t ask for removal.

And what’s worse, so many gullible morons falling for it.
