Bloody well done, MsDeerheart. It's not easy speaking up when you know the reaction can be so bad.

GretchenFranklin · 12/12/2017 09:38

Also disappointed with Angela Rayner.

I don't understand women (mainly) accused of being transphobic, trolls and haters for asking reasonable and frankly urgent questions about GRA.

Nobody that I've seen on twitter is particularly rude. Surely to say Transwomen are men is factually correct and to say otherwise is simply disingenuous?

MrGHardy · 12/12/2017 09:47

They need to keep repeating the “abuse” mantra to position themselves as poor, vulnerable victims. It’s sick given the amount of actual abuse coming out of their own ranks.

MsDeerheart · 12/12/2017 09:48

I didn’t really stick my neck out - I had one rational conversation- Angela Ito think takes a bit of time to process and may not be wholly lost I have to say that saying that transwomen are men is taken as rude and offensive and really doesn’t help -it means it’s easier for people to dismiss what you have to say as transphobic- I had to say a number of times that I understood that some people do feel they are in the wrong sex body - I think as Jess Phillips said this needs less heat and more light -

MsDeerheart · 12/12/2017 09:50

Also that is classic projection complaining about abuse - seen it all the time

LangCleg · 12/12/2017 09:56

I don't think any of us are going to have much luck with UK Labour. And I say that as a member of thirty-plus years.

They have the (white, middle class) youth vote sewn up and they are also drawing a large proportion of the new activists from this demographic. They won't do anything to risk that. And, as we know, this demographic has been thoroughly brainwashed on the gender issue, especially at universities.

This is why the manifesto put £9bn into cancelling student loans and only £2bn into reversing cuts to tax credits and universal credit, which disproportionately affect women. And this is also why they won't be doing anything other than support the trans agenda.

It is what it is. And I very much doubt that Angela Rayner thinks trans-identified males are actually women, or that radfems are evil bigots, any more than we do. It's electoral calculus, I'm afraid.

BeyondAssignation · 12/12/2017 10:12

Having a rational conversation while surrounded by TRAs (in shark infested waters!) is sticking your neck out imo. In a good way!
It deserves praise :)

MsDeerheart · 12/12/2017 10:34

With regards to Labour I am filing it in things - which is a very long list - that I can’t do much about - to be fair to Angela I heard she want much more money to go on early years - the key to me is opposing self ID and protecting children from going though a process they may regret - it’s the government and key groups such as Stonewall that need to be influenced

LangCleg · 12/12/2017 10:42

MsDeerheart - I think a great many women in authority in Labour are hoping that if they say nothing now, there may be room to say something later on, if and when they win an election. Also, worried about deselections by new activists, so want to keep quiet for the moment.

MsDeerheart · 12/12/2017 10:42

Now I am cross apparently someone got chucked out of the party as they made LM feel unsafe twitter.com/drradfem/status/940396615008968704

BeyondAssignation · 12/12/2017 10:50

I was just coming to show you that, msdeer! Shock
Appalling.

LangCleg · 12/12/2017 10:56

Yes, Venice Allen! Told to leave by Olivia Bailey (high up in the Fabians) for making Madigan "feel unsafe".

This is beyond a joke.

AssassinatedBeauty · 12/12/2017 11:12

What?! This is ridiculous! How a feminist be thrown out of a feminist party by other feminists, just for being there?

SuburbanRhonda · 12/12/2017 11:12

I don’t understand why she would make Lily feel unsafe? Does she have a history of violence at public events?

BeyondAssignation · 12/12/2017 11:13

Venice can be... difficult afaik. But not violent.

So, on the one hand little general interest in Helen Steel and the angry TRAs and on the other wobbly-bottom-lip Lily getting a Fabian bodyguard for feeling unsafe around Venice Allen.

Jesus wept, this is how it is?

hipsterfun · 12/12/2017 11:21

*Allan.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 12/12/2017 11:22

Little interest in Maria McLachlan being beaten up in public by three males, but a lone woman is a threat a a public party. How so?

MrGHardy · 12/12/2017 11:36

And we’ve been saying it all along, the “you bigot” and “don’t exclude us” shouting cult throw someone out just for who they are.

Quelle surprise

therealposieparker · 12/12/2017 11:38

Venice has never been violent or confrontational as far as I'm aware. Her being removed from a bloody christmas party is disgusting.

MrWriter · 12/12/2017 11:45

Goodness, I'd never heard of this guy. Off to do some more research.
