She's taking a Twitter break for her mental health because of the level of abuse she's receiving. She's a teenage girl, FFS - and even if you think she's a teenage boy, in what world does a 19 year old deserve this amount of bullying?

I hope you're all fucking happy now.

Hermanorshe

Lily was the momentum candidate for women's officer.

The women's officer post carries far more weight than the LGBT officer post, something to do with voting rights, so momentum were keen to get their man in post, and they had enough voters to ensure they did.

catgirl1976 · 05/12/2017 18:37

Milliband is thinking

'Oh - this is like gay rights. Which every right minded person want so I want this too. This is liberal, this is progressive, this is helping the oppressed'

But it isn't any of those things. Like a lot of people he's not looked at the actual discussion.

Knee jerk righteousness is spot on

HemanOrSheRa · 05/12/2017 18:45

I know FairyFlaps. That is what made me think that Lily is being played. Or not. Maybe Lily is fully aware of what is going on. But Momentum really don't give a toss about trans or women's rights. They like to cause ructions and rifts at CLP level in order to gain power.

Alittlepotofrosie · 05/12/2017 18:46

All these people saying the grown ups around lily should look out for lily's interests... lily is an adult. If Lily can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

MagicalRealist · 05/12/2017 18:48

What did Eddie Izzard say or do to those girls?

Nyx1 · 05/12/2017 18:52

I've just realised I am way behind in this saga....Lily is the one who raised the case against the school for not being allowed to access the girl's loos

this does make me wonder more if the whole thing is a set up and possibly one that Lily's family know about as well.

SparklyUnicornTractors · 05/12/2017 18:53

What is Milliband thinking? Who knows. Every time one of these politicians joins in I do seriously wonder if we're seeing the misogyny that's always been right there under the surface, and now that it's right on and liberal and virtue signalling to silence biological women, overturn rights for their safety and call any woman who questions it 'hysterical and bigoted' they can let it all out in the open. Which in a way is good. Women need to see it and question these people who are telling them equality for women has long since been achieved.

But then New Labour were the ones who led the way the name calling and dehumanising people and groups to shut them down before they could share and communicate things that weren't convenient to their agenda.

KatherinaMinola · 05/12/2017 18:59

It's all very manipulative, isn't it? "I can't go to school" - not "college" or "university" but school - exaggerating the youth and vulnerability. And then the very loaded comments about contact details. I think Lily knows exactly what he's doing.

What's Miliband said? I missed that.

Datun · 05/12/2017 18:59

Except the people who will be blamed for Lily’s meltdown will be feminists, not the Labour Party.

I can feel myself being manipulated into just such a situation.

And I’m not having it.

Lily knows now. Lily has been told, over, and over.

Time to start directing criticism where it belongs. To the people who allowed this to happen, or more likely forced it to happen.

I agree with what everyone has said. Lilly is a fool, and not a very nice one.

But putting a 19-year-old adolescent with mental health issues into the post of women’s officer is irresponsible at best and downright abusive at worst.

They should be utterly ashamed of themselves. They’ve made the Labour Party look like a laughing stock. And a bunch of children unruly children.

KatherinaMinola · 05/12/2017 19:01

Big man Eddie stands up to three 13yos

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 05/12/2017 19:05

I have grabbed those screen shots and forwarded them onto my contacts in the Labour Party. I am also considering sending them to Lily’s school and the police.

BigDeskBob · 05/12/2017 19:13

Its sanctioned misogyny. Men like Ed milband would never call a women a cunt or bitch, but as soon as a women questions why the definition of woman has changed, they are happy to use words like hysterical, bigot or terf. It really doesn't take much for even the most liberal of men to tell women to stfu.

OpalIridescence · 05/12/2017 19:15

This feels like a very unhappy tipping point. I cannot believe this is how far it has all gone.

The talking is getting us nowhere, we don't own our words any more.
We say 'women' and we are told we don't know what that is, it's certainly not us.
We say biology and we are told we are bigoted ( which now seems to have become the meaniest mean thing a person can be, in a world where rape threats to 'TERFs' earns you 'likes')

Stop the world, I want to get off

OlennasWimple · 05/12/2017 19:18

Lily's university, folks, not school

Lily is 19. Old enough to vote, marry, serve in the armed forces. Apparently old enough to hold elected office in a major political party. Definitely old enough to understand that if you put your head over the parapet and lob grenades, occasionally a few will come back your way.

Fekko · 05/12/2017 19:20

But Lilly, as everyone seems to tell him, is special.

Lily certainly wouldn't want to be in the shit storm that is the Brexit negotiations regarding the Northern Irish border.

Lily is not political nor a politician. And I put the blame firmly on those who voted for Lily in the first place. Disgraceful behaviour. You all ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Elendon · 05/12/2017 19:33

Bit of a cross post with Datun.

Gacapa · 05/12/2017 19:33

It seems the Labour Party is so monumentally fucked that hoardes of them are queuing up to champion an obviously mentally unwell teenage boy who is openly threatening women.

I'd say the buck stops with Corbyn. He and Momentum have turned the Party into a rancid, backward, laughing stock.

I truly believe this is why they're so keen to lower the voting age to 16. So they can indoctrinate children and young people.

And it gives me no pleasure to say this. Lifelong Labour voter. Including this year's GE. Well, never again under this shower of shit.

The sight of Corbyn grinning like a someone who is preternaturally gormless next to this Lily makes me heave. Really Jeremy, this is the best we can do for women is it? Fuck off.

Fekko · 05/12/2017 19:36

Corbin is an embarrassment. I was right on as a student but would have turned Tory overnight if this lot had been around then.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 05/12/2017 19:38

Oh dear oh dear Eddie. Three thirteen year old girls ran away from a man who had, just moments previously, been naked in the women's toilets. The TERF bitches.

Nyx1 · 05/12/2017 19:39

OMD that picture of Corbyn and Lily made me feel ill!

OlennasWimple · 05/12/2017 19:39

Whingey article in the Pink News about Lily "I'm just a teenage girl!". But some hearteningly gender critical reader comments

doctorcuntybollocks · 05/12/2017 19:41

We have a Conservative government who are grinding the poor to a fine powder, and a Labour party who seem determined to make themselves unelectable.

Fekko · 05/12/2017 19:42

It reminds me if the Hello Kitty back story that she is a real school girl, 5 apples high (or something like that).

I want to know how do men who decide that they are women of sorts - how do them know what that feels like? Or justify them being able to pee standing up (when women don't have the equipment as it were). I still feel like a teenager (on occasion) but that doesn't make me one in a million years. Sometimes I feel quite pretty but one look in the mirror dispels that concept.
