The thing is, some men are fantastic, of course. I'm married to a good man, and have a son who is growing up to be a decent person, and feminist ally, and know other decent men who don't watch porn, etc.
But yes, when male violence is an epidemic, and when women are treated as sex objects, murdered, raped, tortured, abused, (more often than not merely for men's sexual pleasure,) then I will speak in generalities about men as a class.
It's called class analysis, and it involves looking at the overall behaviours and actions of an oppressor class, such as males.
If this class-based discussion upsets anyone more than the brutal rapes, murders, and abuses committed by men, then maybe they should make a new thread about that issue, rather than derailing this one.
