Male TERFS...

This is something which has been bothering me for while. As more and more people hit 'peak trans', more and more men are being gender critical. The most famous examples being Tucker Carlson, Ricky Gervais, and Piers Morgan. The other day, Graham Linehan (writer of Father Ted and IT Crowd) tweeted about the misogyny of calling women terfs. The response he received was half negative/ half positive, but the negative posts contained no death/ rape threats (as a lot of attacks on female terfs usually do). For example, the reaction to Jenni Murray was largely negative, with the positive responses being anonymous.

It seems that men are being taken more seriously than women on this issue. Linehan is not experiencing the same backlash Jenni got. I think people see his opinion as more valid than hers.

My point is, and I hate to say this, but we need men to help more people reach 'peak trans' and for the issue to be taken more seriously. It's safer for men to do this as their not in danger of losing their jobs, credibility etc, in the same way that women are.

Here is Graham Linhan's Twitter which shows you what he said: twitter.com/Glinner

Thoughts?

It honestly blows my mind that people see this as a progressive stance. This is how people talked about being gay in the 80s in the wee village I grew up in - that being gay is effeminate, that it means gay men are really women, that they're not "real" men.

Yes Pooch. Also reminds me of when I've heard people say things about butch gay women, 'trying to be men' etc.

The independent article I just linked to mentions the gay men in Iran who are pressured to transition because it's more acceptable for them to be 'women' than to be gay men.

God, Shon Faye's a numpty too.

It is quite entertaining watching the SJWs turn on each other though - thanks for the twitter link, datun. Must be intersectional! Argh, but this is homophobic? What to do...? (Blame TERFs? Yeah, that'll do).

I think this will peak trans a lot of gay men. Population by population, people are realising that this is not just as straightfoward as supporting an oppressed group in a rights struggle.

None of them were worried about homophobia when it was just lesbians being attacked, of course...

Very true, Empress. And very telling. Homophobia is only really serious when it involves men.

These idiots will take themselves down.

Such a high level of narcissism will be their undoing.

Both Juno and Shon Faye are so caught up in their own ego driven narrative that they don't realise how obvious their prejudice is.

The feminists' radar was so finally honed, that they spotted it immediately.

But it really does not require any kind of intuition. The self-interest and self absorption is so prevalent, they expose themselves unwittingly.

There was an excellent and very sad documentary about gay Iranians being forced to trans or leave Iran made a little while back. One of the young men who were followed talked about the pressure put on them to transition and their subsequent pain on discovering that while they had been a pretty man, they were not a pretty woman and found that they weren't desirable to men any more. It was heartbreaking to see how miserable they were (especially as they had ended up a refugee regardless, so effectively forced to transition and still losing their home and community).

Terfing

There is now some interest in transplanting a woman's uterus into a man.

My thoughts on the subject are perfectly summed up by the exchange in this photo. (Warning, might trigger blood pressure overload).
