Why so much trans bashing on MN?

I just don't get it at all.

Why do I see threads every day on MN which spout hatred and fear about the trans community. What's everyone so scared of??? Literally hundreds of posts of people talking like trans women are somehow a threat to biological women.

For a social platform which is meant to be friendly and approachable, this really stinks.

Just going back to Loitering and her DD:

It is very important not to fall into the trap of feeling you have to declare a position when someone asks you to. There is no requirement anywhere for people to have to state beliefs and preferences to anyone, really.

Especially as stating a position with a teenager is guaranteed to have the opposite affect.
