Why so much trans bashing on MN?

I just don't get it at all.

Why do I see threads every day on MN which spout hatred and fear about the trans community. What's everyone so scared of??? Literally hundreds of posts of people talking like trans women are somehow a threat to biological women.

For a social platform which is meant to be friendly and approachable, this really stinks.

Where did I say us women belong in the kitchen?! I think we should be in charge not subservient to men!

Good grief.

FerretsAreFeminists · 03/05/2017 02:07

I strongly suspect that Trans is an autogynephile. That's why he keeps dodging our questions and getting all faux hurt.

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:10

I really resent that you equate trans-people to a mental illness. This is bullying, full stop.

I'm a woman torn apart. What is it you want from me? What?

Terfing · 03/05/2017 02:13

Trans

Do you think that 'female' and 'feminine' are synonyms?

Also, how did you find Mumsnet?

Terfing · 03/05/2017 02:13

Also, emotional blackmail won't work here. Try using logic instead. Smile

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:15

Also, how did you find Mumsnet?

I think it to be the best, genuine source available for women.

What saddens me is that such obvious bullying of trans is allowed without any redress whatsoever.

You said you were happy to engage. But I've asked the same question six times. How can we tell if a transwoman in our bathroom has AGP?

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:17

It's gleeful, the way they attack us here. Predatory.

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:18

Datun

Name one occasion you'be been perved on by a trans-person in a bathroom.

Be honest.

nooka · 03/05/2017 02:18

This is fairly obviously a kid on the windup. Same type of arguments my teenage ds tries on with great glee. Pointless to engage.

Answering my question with yet another question! My question is how can we tell the difference?

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 02:20

Please don't tell me that getting an erection simply from wearing women's clothes is not a kink

Datun · 03/05/2017 02:20

You're right nooka. I raised two of them, you think I'd be used to it by now.

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:22

Please don't tell me that getting an erection simply from wearing women's clothes is not a kink

When was this an issue for all trans-people?

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 02:22

Some useful examples of the sexism faced by female athletes

Datun · 03/05/2017 02:23

TransAndProud

No one has said it is an issue for all transwomen. But it is an issue for women. How do we tell the difference?

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 02:24

I never said that all transwomen have AGP. Hmm

But do you admit this is problematic when it is suggested that anyone who says that they are a woman can gain access to hitherto protected spaces? If not, why not?

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:27

I could go on. But lets just be honest. You will never accept me will you. You're blinded by cis prejudice. You're oppressors, not empowerors.

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:29

There's one silver lining here. I've learnt that mumsnet hates Trans and will never fight for our rights.

OlennasWimple · 03/05/2017 02:31

What rights would you like us to fight with you for, that do not take away from those that women have themselves fought long and hard for?

Datun · 03/05/2017 02:31

TransAndProud

"I could go on."

I think you find you would have had to have made a start, before you could reliably be considered to be 'going on'.

TransAndProud · 03/05/2017 02:35

Do you guys believe transphobia to be a serious issue?

venusinscorpio · 03/05/2017 02:36

Yes. But you're directing your ire at the wrong people if you're talking about violence. It's not women who are violent to trans people. It's men. Why not tackle them?
