Why so much trans bashing on MN?

I just don't get it at all.

Why do I see threads every day on MN which spout hatred and fear about the trans community. What's everyone so scared of??? Literally hundreds of posts of people talking like trans women are somehow a threat to biological women.

For a social platform which is meant to be friendly and approachable, this really stinks.

Essentially hate speech based on gender.

If I had my way, we would all use the bathroom of our birth sex. Because it infuriates me how this is going to allow really horrible man to do what they like.

But I don't think that can work now. So I would go for a bathroom for men, one for women, and a gender neutral one for everyone else.

However Transactivists don't like that because it doesn't validate them.

I would also repeal the law about being able to claim womanhood as a legal entity. It was designed to ease the path of those with gender dysphoria, but it is being exploited the wazoo.

Trans - hi! I appreciate you joining the thread and I have to say I am caught somewhere in the middle of all this with my beliefs. I very much dislike the assumption that transwomen are a threat to women in anyway. It leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. I personally have no issue with transwomen using female toilets, I wouldn't even think twice about it. I think what does bother me, as another poster mentioned, is the transwomen in sports etc, and I do very much dislike the term cis women. As we are just women. Can I ask your opinion on these issues ? Thanks :)

Trans - but would you not agree that if born male, if you then competed against women in sports, you're at an advantage biologically?? Surely you can't deny science in the facts of physical strength.

Then the trans community needs to start distancing itself from the perverts (rather than celebrating them/insisting they go to women's prisons/shelters), and stop being our enemy by taking away the very words we use to define our reality.

There hasn't been a single incident of a transwoman being attacked in a male bathroom in this country. Believe me, I check regularly. There has never been a single murder of a transwoman in this country.

The way I see it is that a transwoman would have a fighting chance in the male bathroom against other men. The power dynamic shifts when it's the other way around. A woman would not have a chance.

Most transmen (i.e. women) prefer to use the ladies. It's not a surprise to me.

Their argument for transwomen using my bathrooms doesn't hold up. They say women are not under threat of men, then claim that men are in fact a threat. And because they feel threatened, women need to budge up and feel threatened instead.

I don't really believe the rhetoric, to be honest. It's all about validation. Forcing people to validate.

Otherwise the third option would be welcome to them. But honestly pirate, they change the goalposts as soon as you provide a counter argument.

If the women on here are rude it is because they are tired. Tired and angry. It gets you down, after a while.
