The BBC's political equivalent of Jeremy Kyle is hosting "has the time come to decriminalise sex work" tomorrow morning.

I'm going to be in the audience; if anyone wants to support the Nordic model voice via twitter please do!

Diverse ways of living that cause immense harm to women for the benefit of men.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 21:43

So eliminate the harm. Then we can all worship sex workers as people who bring happiness to millions.

What is the most common other occupation of sex workers? It is nurse. There are some people who just want to give.

GuardianLions · 02/04/2017 21:43

And I have to scoff at "diverse ways of living"
Upthread you revealed you think grooming teens into prostitution is just another way of life. I wonder what else your deviant mind sees as diverse - slavery or incest perhaps?

GuardianLions · 02/04/2017 21:46

Unwanted sex is harmful. Unwanted sex is intrinsic to prostitution. You cannot take unwanted sex out of prostitution. Therefore you can't take away the harm of prostitution.

0phelia · 02/04/2017 21:47

Sex workers are female. Nurses are female.
Why can't men bring happiness to millions? The some people who "just want to give" by your own admission, actually have no other choice. It's not a real want, is it. Not like the wanting to stick your dick in something.

0phelia · 02/04/2017 21:50

You can never take the harm out of prostitution.

GEA What do you think a WG does when she's on her period?.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 02/04/2017 21:51

God dont ask him that!!!!

I am the only person here with first hand experience? Everyone else is just basing their opinion on what they have been told. Nothing like informed debate. I have never been to Australia but I feel I am in a position to advise you all on potential visits.

Edsheeranalbumparty · 02/04/2017 22:09

If it's such a rewarding job and gives women the warm fuzzies to know that they are 'giving something back' and making such a positive difference to people's lives, then why aren't more people doing it? Why is it largely very vulnerable women, many of whom were abused or have serious drug issues doing it? Why are there very few happy, well adjusted women who just do it because they want to ease the suffering of men?

I'm in a 'caring profession'. Maybe i have been missing out by not letting men do unspeakable things to me for money.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 02/04/2017 22:14

You dont count gender

I appreciate sex workers who have come on here and discussed, i may not agree with them but they have the experience

You?

You dont count

Your experience does not count

MaximilianNero · 02/04/2017 22:20

I don't have first hand experience of having an abortion or working in abortion services, but I sure as hell have an opinion on abortion law.

I've never been in the military or employed in foreign policy but have an opinion on the War on Iraq and Trident. Never claimed benefits but have an opinion on benefits cuts.

I've read up a lot on these issues, been told a lot, critically considered what I've been told and researched, and I've formed an opinion. All without close personal experience. How incredible.

How do you find it not having an opinion on most issues, since you don't have personal experience of them? Must be terribly boring to fence sit all the time.

FritzDonovan · 02/04/2017 22:24

Prostitution affects all women. It should not be further legitimised.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 22:50

HoldBackTheRain

Lass - sex is part of a loving relationship

We are not talking about "loving relationships" - we are talking about buying sex.

SarcasmMode · 02/04/2017 23:08

Here is a good idea.

Why don't really poor men prostitute themselves? If female clientele is low, you can offer to males.

If it's just a job it's not about your pleasure it's about the customers, so surely this would be a valid option?

They wouldn't like some strange bloke sticking their cock in them and feeling humiliated?

Thank goodness women never feel -- oh wait.

I would also worry by decriminalising it you would put some other issues in like discrimination.

Lacey can't refuse punter x just because he's fat, or black as that's discrimination.

Criminalise the buying, not the selling.

SarcasmMode · 02/04/2017 23:11

Btw I'm a disabled woman and married but if I wasn't, I could get sex just fine thanks Smile

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 23:23

Hmmm I just got asked to stay over next weekend with a female friend who I have shagged on and off for the last 5 years. She messages me when she gets the urge. How much do you think I should charge for a Saturday night? Overnighter? She is French, provencale and 45. With her being a civvie I rarely get my "happy ending" but she usually is happy.

SarcasmMode · 02/04/2017 23:26

I'd say £50 should do it gender - you don't want to charge too much as a first timer.

Why don't you just have ONS?

Or sign up for no strings sex sites?

Same principal without the paying.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 23:43

Too many stalkers. I used to do the Lonely Planet forums women's traveller "pissups". I would come away from those with 4-5 numbers.

Then one of them went nutzoid on me. Showed up at my work and then started calling my sister! After that I decided never again and ended up marrying a Parisienne I picked up in Marrakech.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 23:45

That thing about you pay a woman so that she leaves at the end......

GuardianLions · 03/04/2017 00:05

gender that contradicts your earlier do-gooder punter claims about them wanting to chat with you over the time and go to dinner with you etc.
Saying something misogynistic like 'paying for them to leave' is antagonistic on this forum and thread.
I honestly think uou should go and get psychiatric assessment, you might find out you have aspergers or a personality disorder or something, because it is not normal to show your lack of awareness of what is an appropriate thing to disclose about yourself - and I think your one ally has done one, you've also shown an abnormal lack of empathy and its odd that you want to hang out and chat with people who feel hostile towards you.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 00:16

Yes sorry that was just put into stir. With the right person I am happy to hang out after the meeting or go for a meal or drinks. Sex workers can be really switched on and fun to be around. I like them and I respect them enormously. I do not describe them ever in a derogatory manner.

I did a full pysch test 2 years back. 24 on that autism spectrum thingy. No mental illness. I function in normal society and bring in a good salary. Just the impulse thing, lack of inhibition and boundaries. I am a terrible risk taker

FritzDonovan · 03/04/2017 00:25

Oh, I thought he just had 'goady fucker' disorder...
