Gender Critical MNers Gathering Together On Twitter.

OverthinkingSpartacus · 10/03/2017 19:43

Creating this thread for those who want to follow/share/connect/engage with other gender critical MNers on Twitter after the suggestion was made on this thread to group together there to raise awareness of our concerns around the possibility of gender self identity replacing gender reassignment in the uk and trans ideology etc.

If you'd like to take part then please Pm me your Twitter name, over the weekend I will compile a list of MNers Twitter names and PM them back out to everyone on Monday. As it'll be an ongoing thing, I will add other Twitter handles that are sent after Monday and send updated lists via PM. Only your Twitter name will be given to other MNers and I won't share your MN username alongside your Twitter account with anyone.

If you know of any other public Twitter profiles that are openly gender critical such as Magdelan Burns, please feel free to share their Twitter names too and I shall add to the list.

Before you sign up for Twitter you will need an email or phone number for verification.
Understandably, many don't feel safe linking personal phone number or personal emails to gender critical posts so it might be best to create a separate email address for social media sites etc where you want to speak about concerns raised in the other threads. Gmail, outlook, yahoo are three sites off the top of my head that provide free web based email accounts.

When you click on sign up in Twitter it will give the option of signing up with a mobile number as a default but if you scroll down a little, there's an option to "use email instead"

Following this link should take you to the sign up page with the email option already selected.

If you are worried about your IP address being used to locate you, you can use VPN (Virtual Private Network) software/services that camouflage your actual IP and make it look as if you are accessing the Internet from elsewhere. I use an Android app called VPN master which can be downloaded from google play and once installed, it's just a case of opening app and and switching it on and accessing Internet as usual. You can have the VPN running all the time but it can drain battery so I open app and turn back off after using. There should be similar apps for iOS and Windows, I will link them in later post if I get time.

I can create a bunch of email and Twitter accounts for people if they are struggling, but wont be able to do it until Monday. I'll be less active online over the weekend but wanted to get the thread up so that people can start PMing their Twitter names.

I am openly gender critical on Twitter and a lot of well-known evil TERFS radical feminists follow me so my tweets do get seen by TRAs. Despite this, I have had little personal abuse and most of it has been stuff that I actually consider a compliment, mainly calling me a TERF Smile

So don't be put off by fear of constant rape threats etc. It's perfectly possible to engage with other GC people without too much interference. But do take the risk of dox-ing seriously.

shinynewusername · 12/03/2017 17:11

Amnesty can fuck right off, I'm afraid, Nine. They have just succeeded in helping a TW overturn Norwegian law to be legally recognised as a woman and they think you are 'whorephobic' if you are against legalised brothels, despite all the evidence these harm women. They have totally sold out to the SJW crazies.

Ollycat · 12/03/2017 17:39

WankingMonkey I've looked at the terfisalur website and was shocked by some of the things they had screen shotted - are these transwomen not prosecuted for hate crimes? Are they trying to erase us from the definition of woman so that transwomen = women and we are not men??

I'm genuinely a bit shook up by it all.

WobblyLegs5 · 12/03/2017 18:14

Maybe someone within law should be checking if it meets the criteria for inciting hatred

MercyMyJewels · 12/03/2017 18:21

Shiny
Really? Fuck.
I always rated Amnesty, Is nothing real anymore?

NineReasons · 12/03/2017 18:52

Shiny, thanks for letting me know, very disappointed to hear that about Amnesty.

shinynewusername · 12/03/2017 21:50

Fraid so. Here is the Norway story. Here is an article by Rolling Stone (hardly a bastion of conservatism) outlining the problems with Amnesty's policy on sex work. Apparently it's every girl's human right to be sexually exploited for cash Hmm

If you search #Spartacus on twitter there are some mumsnets posts but you will always be competing against the original Spartacus and the very popular tv show of the same name.

Do you need a unique one. Even Iamspartacus, mngendercritical or the shorter versions mentioned before?

To trend in a meaningful way you do need something unique. Even joining known # tags may be good ie #gendercritcal.

Scissorcisters · 12/03/2017 22:03

Of course you can use more than one # but the message will need to be shorter. Using a well known one will reach a wider audience as people do search for # tags.

So someome searching for #Spartacus may not add you, as may like naked Roman blokes,, but someone searching for #gendercritcal would.

Look at the tags for the TRAs to see what I mean. I work in this area so just a suggestion.

Dreamingdreams · 12/03/2017 22:17

I'm in too. Just signed up to Twitter. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I think I've just sent my first tweet about the rape that wasn't what it seemed.

Scissorcisters · 12/03/2017 22:23

Also use pictures with text to get your point across or if you are posting a trolls posti, or short snappy intros to links. There is no limit on text then.

Then hash tag away.

Get people like Magdalene Burns to follow you, send pm's to request. People will follow people on her list and she may retweet etc. Add others by searching for relevant # tags ie gender critical. It's networking really with like minded people who will then have your back when you need it.

Scissorcisters · 12/03/2017 22:37

On Twitter it's the hash tags that get noticed, not the content on it's own. Use TRAs hash tags too and hashtags in the realm of Everday Feminism etc. Twitter is a popularity contest, treat it that way. They do.

Danielle Muscato was allowed to tell people to suck his female dick because of it.

WankingMonkey

I just listened to a podcast that featured your name heavily, I have to ask if that was the inspiration?

WankingMonkey · 12/03/2017 23:03

Inspiration for my username was a thread on here in AIBU...someone asking if they would be unreasonable to complain to the zoo about wanking monkeys Grin

Miffer · 12/03/2017 23:07

Ahhh no worries, I realised after I posted you predated the podcast anyway.

In other news I am gutted that Twitter has outfoxed me. I will just have to settle for watching and staying silent.

Miffer · 12/03/2017 23:09

JUST LIKE WOMEN ARE TRAINED TO DO.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 12/03/2017 23:36

I used to work in social media, let me know if you need plans for getting stuff trending.

When it comes to posting, yes hashtags are key however they need not be too short anymore as creating a thread of tweets has become more acceptable (basically replying to your own tweet in quick succession to create a thread). Use a pre determined hashtag for this campaign (as it were) to and pick 2-3 relevant and highly used hashtags. Make sure to add them to the first tweet. Tweet your thread and the quote retweet yourself saying something like "Here is a thread I created with my thoughts on specific topic #whatevercollectivehashtagwesettleon #radfem #whatever. Pls RT"

You need the other hashtags to give this hashtag publicity.

Posts with photos in get more retweets. You can add several to a post and they shouldn't count toward your 140ch.
You can create simple logos on picmonkey for free so you can have people recognise you in conversation.

Do settle on the hashtag though, it needs to be unique
#RadNotBad
#SpartiCUNTS

Scissorcisters · 13/03/2017 00:21

As I said, unique # tag!

Scissorcisters · 13/03/2017 00:23

And one that has been used successfuly before.
