'Those who have lived as men, with all the privileges that entails, do not have the shared experience of growing up female.'

Brave and interesting article in the Times.

Link here behind pay wall I think

Abso-fucking-lutely.

Juno Dawson has asked incredulously 'who is JM to decide what a 'real woman' is?'.

Well, for a start she's a woman (duh!). Why should men get to decide what a real woman is?

We are woman. Tall, short, big breasts, small breasts, no breasts, pregnant, infertile, vagina, uterus, no uterus, menstruating, menopausal, heterosexual, lesbian...

All women. All different yet all the same.

And not one penis.

whoputthecatout · 06/03/2017 21:01

Way to go GirlScout . YYY

Oh, and did anyone notice this gem from Kellie Maloney

But Maloney said Murray was making the basic mistake that you cannot change your sex. “You are correcting a gender. I’m shocked someone of her intelligence makes a mistake like that,” she said

Another ignoramus who cannot tell the difference between gender and sex.

Jenni has more intelligence in her little finger than you have in the whole of your body Kellie.

Girl Scout

Standing ovation from me

I'd follow that battle cry, why can't the TRA see that the way they are responding to women who question their ideology is simply radicalising more women and opening their eyes to the hatred?

GirlScout72 · 06/03/2017 21:05

And on a final note, cos I'm all transed out, I bet they wouldn't have the bloody guts to go after Monty Python, they wouldn't bloody dare! How transphobic is this?!

Spot on scout!

By the way - I follow thinx on fb. Pants that absorb period (not hit any yet!) but their advertising is brilliant!

However - sadly, If I were to listen to some transgendered people (especially the transactivists), I might see it as transphobic. And it really saddens me as it's so clever.

It's not transphobic, it's fucking brilliant!

It does mention "all menstruating humans" but I think that must be the advertising edge rather than nod towards trans, due to the huge vulvas and vaginas all over the packaging. But maybe it is? Confused I still think it's awesome!

booox · 06/03/2017 21:09

Correction: "real menstruating humans".....

GirlScout72 · 06/03/2017 21:13

I once heard a TA say that trans vaginas were nicer than women's vaginas as our stunk, oozed and bled ... and were all round 'disgusting'

I read another say they'd know when they were a 'real woman' when they sat down to 'pee out of their vagina' (no not ever urinated out of that orifice but bless!)

I also read it on the newspaper comments yesterday, that transwomen are better than other women as they are all the good bits without the bad bits.

And Kelly Maloney is a wife beater, his opinions on women are suspect at best.

QuentinSummers · 06/03/2017 21:16

It's amazing in the case of Kellie Maloney and Caitlyn Jenner (plus some others who aren't celebs but can't remember the names) that somehow transitioning absolved them of previous disgusting crimes.
Fucks me right off.

qumquat · 06/03/2017 21:22

Amazing girlscout I want to copy and paste your post and post it everywhere..... Except I won't because I'm too scared.

WankingMonkey · 06/03/2017 21:26

The black / race analogy is something they can't answer ever.

I asked the race/gender thing earlier and got

The difference between race and gender is, race is cultural, gender is biological, you can't be born white and say "well actually I feel Chinese" because you aren't, Chinese is a cultural thing, something that is learned after you have been born. Gender is different, as it more about how the chemicals in your body make you feel, you can feel wrong in your own body, thanks to how your own body works.

As a reply Hmm

Hurradieweltgehtunter · 06/03/2017 21:27

Is there a petition anywhere for Jenni? Someone is writing a letter and organising signatures on Facebook.

booox · 06/03/2017 21:30

Well then, they're not real women then are they?

Part of being a real woman is dealing with the mess!

And the peeing out of the vagina? Sounds almost like someone raiding mummy's clothes to dress up and feel like her, wear my the heels etc

I always wanted curly hair. I can make it curly, temporarily or more permanently (with top ups), but it's not really curly. And I haven't, because of this, ever experienced how tough really, really curly hair can be to live with! (Memories of a friend setting her curls in a warm oven, and another going no poo to cope with frizz....)

It then actually became more acceptable to have straight hair, society said, 'straight hair is better' - and I felt free from needing to have ghds etc. I had more 'freedom' as a straight haired person. Straight hair privilege...

Simplistic analogy but true!

booox · 06/03/2017 21:31

There's a curly haired person in me just desperate to be my true authentic self!

(Sorry its late and my brain is fried).

venusinscorpio · 06/03/2017 21:44

Jonathan willoughby, who died and rose again? Pathetic! And not a Jesus complex at all)

Yes, I saw the twitter bio earlier. I had a little lol on the train Grin

AskBasil · 06/03/2017 21:53

Can we have a demo to tell the bbc to fuck off?

Paffle · 06/03/2017 21:58

Girlscout I think about that Brian scene more and more often as I follow these FWR threads on trans issues. "Symbolic of his struggle with reality". Little did they know...

Fully agree with the rest of your posts too.

Thelilywhite · 06/03/2017 22:26

Girl scout Thanks for your beautifully eloquent post. Im going to read it out everytime someone asks me why we still need international womens day,

WomanScorned · 06/03/2017 22:46

Im with you all the way, girlscout
What a rallying cry!
That clip is brilliant, btw :)

CharlottaBronte · 06/03/2017 22:52

Just wondering, do trans men [women to men] want to use men's toilets? Do they lobby as powerfully as trans women to have the same 'rights' as men, ie, go to male prisons, male toilets, fight as male soldiers, compete as male athletes, etc? Genuine question. They certainly don't seem to rage at men the way some trans women rage at some women, but then again, I suppose men haven't really got the hang of welcoming trans men fully into their lives yet?

AskBasil · 06/03/2017 23:11

Transmen are women.

Which is why no-one takes any notice of them.

CharlottaBronte · 06/03/2017 23:16

well, quite. Seems to be the elephant in the room in all this?

venusinscorpio · 06/03/2017 23:18

The only time transmen ever pipe up is to berate and shame women for our dysphoria triggering and exclusionary language about our female biological issues, and to stand in solidarity with transwomen who obvs have everything so much harder than them because they're the most oppressed group in history. They are generally not to be found calling men exclusionary or triggering or anything.

joystir59 · 06/03/2017 23:23

For all the Malalas, and all the trafficked women and girls, for all those girls in dying rooms, aborted girl babies, genitially mutilated women, raped women, battered women bundling their kids out the house with the clothes they stand up in, for all those women being screwed on their pensions, women being underpaid, stalked women, underappreciated women, women getting crap health care, all those amazing brave butch women, clever women, outspoken women, prostituted women, I say fuck this

This absofuckinglutely! Joins the atanding ovation.
Im ready to fight back. For all the times Ive been groped, demeaned, talked down to, been mansplained to by men I supervised. For every vunerable woman who cant tell men to fuck off. For my daughters, so they dont have to learn how to behave so they dont get raped.

For generations women have been made to suffer because of our biology and now they want to take that from us too?

Fuck that.*

This with bells on!!!! Thank you BevGoldbergsSister

BeerMuggles · 06/03/2017 23:24

Yes, brilliant posts from girlscout. All of it is so true. And Ask Basil, yes, figures doesn't it. Trans men are used to not having a voice so they don't suddenly feel engraged.
