Have you seen the current DFS advert?

All the seamstresses and haberdashers are women and all the carpenters and users of big tools are men.

Why is that then DFS? Eh? Eh?

For shame on you.

That's a bit of an eye opener almond. Thanks for that.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 22:48

almond

Blimey Shock

Bloody hell, 45 people murdered working in food shops. Talking about dangerous jobs takes on a totally different meaning in the US.

I remember when I was young watching stuff like Saved By The Bell and thinking the US was some sort of utopia.

noblegiraffe · 26/10/2016 23:10

I didn't see the totals. 106 total people murdered while working in shops. Shock

MsMermaid · 26/10/2016 23:14

Those stats are really shocking.

Nursing isn't lower status than doctors because mostly women do it. It's lower status and pay because quite frankly it's an easy low skilled job in comparison. Besides there are many female doctors and many male nurses

I don't agree nursing is a low skill , easy job but I agree if you are ranking jobs by status nursing will rank lower than a doctor or surgeon just because of the level of skills and knowledge needed for the latter. It's the same difference as between a solicitor or a barrister and a paralegal.

So, sofas...

Maybe people need a new one for Xmas to seat their relatives?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 27/10/2016 22:10

I like a red sofa so the living room is nice and christmassy with red and gold ornaments

I want a grey sofa next so i am not sure how thats going to go

Probably wont get it from dfs...are they any good?

HillaryFTW · 27/10/2016 22:15

I won't buy from DFS on principle because... their adverts have always fucked me off!

Mostly as everything is apparently always in the sale.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/10/2016 22:17

Always in the sale but only for a limited time. I wonder if anyone has ever bought one full price?

noblegiraffe · 27/10/2016 22:20

They don't sell sofas, they sell credit.

HillaryFTW · 27/10/2016 22:21

I doubt their systems could process it! Like after the expenses scandal when one MP wanted to pay her tax dues after "flipping" but there was no actual way to do it...

Xenophile · 28/10/2016 00:06

We bought a wing back armchair from dfs and the arm fell off it. Fuckers.

HillaryFTW · 28/10/2016 15:29

Indeed!
