Have you seen the current DFS advert?

All the seamstresses and haberdashers are women and all the carpenters and users of big tools are men.

Why is that then DFS? Eh? Eh?

For shame on you.

Scallops

I'm still waiting for proof or an apology of the 'abuse' i was dishing out...

But as you bring it up, civillians are always the victim of war, how can you claim women want to be on the front line in one hand and cite rape is rife in war on the other?! Hypocrisy much.

Women involvement on the front line effects mens ability to do their jobs, there has been plenty of practical study within armed forces of mens empathetic natures leading them to becoming weak when they have to consider a womans safety, inferior physical capabilities, higher emotional intelligence.

FifaFater · 26/10/2016 21:34

Being called a dickhead for starters, is that acceptable to you? Maybe casual and aggressive racism? Maybe your false accusations that I am abusing people?

Are you willing to overlook peoples behaviour you agree with?

quencher · 26/10/2016 21:34

That's because men are usually carpenters and women are usually seamstresses. I'm a midwife and have met one male midwife in 20 years. Would you prefer midwives on tv to be played by men? Get real!! Yes! That is how you get to inspire more men to apply for midwifery courses or become nurses.

The similar logic would apply to females or other race if you want change at all.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:35

Oh good lord

Grin

fifa sounds like my dad, except the bit where he says men have empathetic natures...that bit my daddy definitely wouldnt say

almondpudding · 26/10/2016 21:36

But why FIFA, if you don't believe western women have it wore than men, why are you even reading these threads? How can it be of any interest to you whatsoever?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:38

how can you claim women want to be on the front line in one hand and cite rape is rife in war on the other?! Hypocrisy much

Not sure about this bit either Hmm

Xenophile · 26/10/2016 21:41

Women involvement on the front line effects mens ability to do their jobs

I call bullshit. Prove it.

I'll give you a hint. It's not true.

FifaFater · 26/10/2016 21:41

Rufus

So no rebutal to the practical study, jusy 'haha you sound like my dad'.

Maybe a lifelong military woman saying the same thing as me has more of a point?

www.telegraph.co.uk/women/work/putting-women-soldiers-like-me-on-the-front-line-is-dangerous/

Or maybe she sounds like your mum?

Can I ask, have you ever been in combat? A war zone or shot at? I can tell you how the fight or flight theory is indeed nothing compared to the decision to flee for your life or stay and search for female relatives!!!

noblegiraffe · 26/10/2016 21:44

I looked up the workplace fatality statistics. It appears there were 144 workplace deaths last year, we've one of the lowest rates in Europe, and the figures decrease every year, presumably as safety measures improve. The highest number of deaths was in construction, not normally a job I'd consider dangerous, but I guess working at height needs stringent safety procedures. All in all men are pretty safe at work in the UK.

PatMullins · 26/10/2016 21:45

There are plenty of military women on here, would their opinions count?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:46

My mum wasnt in the military

No no rebuttal

I honestly cant be bothered

And i have tried really i have to take you at face value, not necessarily on this thread i grant you

You dont listen

There are loads of very clever women on this thread (not me Grin) with masses of 'studies'

One will be along in a minute

assuming they can be bothered at any rate

Xenophile · 26/10/2016 21:46

No Pat, I really don't think they would.

Well, they would to us, but not to the hairy handed.

scallopsrgreat · 26/10/2016 21:46

I gave you proof. As did Buffy.

But as you bring it up, civillians are always the victim of war, how can you claim women want to be on the front line in one hand and cite rape is rife in war on the other?! Hypocrisy much. Hypocrisy? It's not hypocrisy Confused. I didn't actually say women wanted to be on the frontline (does anyone want to be on the frontline of a war). But even if I did, that isn't a hypocritical stance because women are raped during war. Unless you are suggesting it is women doing the raping?

It is a juxtaposition, I grant you. Why put more women into the path of violent men where they could be raped? Why perpetuate male violence? But as both types of violence will happen, currently, with or without women on the frontline, women should be allowed to fight if they want to. If there were more female soldiers maybe there would be less rape of civilians (not that I think it would be a woman's responsibility to stop her colleagues from raping women.)

Xenophile · 26/10/2016 21:47

Rufus, don't be putting yourself down. Your insights have been real lightbulb moments to more women than just me.

PatMullins · 26/10/2016 21:48

Me included, Rufus

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:49

Oh bless you xeno and pat

That really means a lot

Pat

Did I not just post a military womens opinion?! Would I have posted that if it didn't count?

So the response to 'does this military opinion of women on the front line matter, or should women be there because women yay?' is I can't be bothered, and someone else will do it?

My intention is not to offend, but I find it incredulous that the military issue was jumped on with such little understanding.

If I was being rude, insulting people, even being sarcastic I could understand why you would feel the need to not 'take me at face value', but i'm not, I'm asking questions and presenting my opinion with either factual basis or evidence, and that you find insulting.

For that i'm sorry

I've been waiting for these Halloween faces Halloween Blush

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:54

And i am not insulted by you fifa

FifaFater · 26/10/2016 21:55

Scallops

You provided neither proof or an apology!

You make a valid point regarding rape and war, if there was a high % of women battling the nazis in WW2 there would be very little rape, however would we all be speaking German right now (Well not me becuase I do speak German).

Women should NOT be allowed to fight if they want to, as men should NOT be allowed to fight if they want to, both sexes should be allowed to fight IF THEY PROVE THEIR ABLE TO!!!

Which brings me to the next point, should women face lesser fitness testing to enter the front line?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 26/10/2016 21:55

So the response to 'does this military opinion of women on the front line matter, or should women be there because women yay?' is I can't be bothered, and someone else will do it?

I didnt realise you were asking a question
