Welcome, everybody.

Happy Friday.

OP posts:
MercyMyJewels · 20/02/2017 13:19

What? Her question was good. And it's still there! ????

HelenDenver · 20/02/2017 13:21

Yy Mercy and AB. Xeno meant to post that it was FloraFox; as of a couple of minutes ago, her questions still stood.

Xenophile · 20/02/2017 13:25

Abject apologies, really shouldn't post when unwell, it's FloraFox not AskBasil. It's easy to get two utterly fabulous women confused when you're a bear of very little brain.

Sorry again.

MercyMyJewels · 20/02/2017 13:30

Flora's posts are still there too. I've been sitting on my hands as it's the one issue that we DO NOT know politicians' opinions on, yet we are being told to STFU, or at least, FO you are not getting an answer

And it's too early for wine Grin

Datun · 20/02/2017 13:36

Right now, part of the reason why people are not listening to us is that they think we're not listening to them.

Do you think this is code?

HelenDenver · 20/02/2017 13:54

And she has answered that self-identification is not without its issues.

Thank goddess for that honesty.

Somerville · 20/02/2017 14:24

I was following the web chat to ask a question about another pressing issue (the upcoming slashing of widowed parents allowance) but decided not to when I saw HQ ask not to ask any more q's on the trans stuff. (I thought the fewer q's on complex other stuff, the harder for her to avoid.) So I'd have been doubly annoyed if she hadn't answered.

CaroleService · 20/02/2017 15:43

Have started a thread for discussion of the HH response if anyone is interested - comment is spread about all over the board at the mo

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/02/2017 19:37

Oh dear ... We're there more bannings?

CaroleService · 20/02/2017 19:59

No. MNHQ seemed to me to be proceeding through gritted teeth though; there was a cap on trans-related questions

Xenophile · 20/02/2017 20:33

Yes Spartacus, there were

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 20/02/2017 20:35

I've just bought my ticket for the feminist event in Cheltenham on 11th March. I know CharlieSierra and Gingernaut are going. Anyone else? If anyone who is going would like to meet up, please PM me.

Very excited. Thought I couldn't afford to go but it seems I can just manage it. Smile

CaroleService · 20/02/2017 20:57

Xenophile - I hadn't realised there were more bannings.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 20/02/2017 21:14

Oh no, not more bannings! What's happened to Fish? She seems to have fallen off the edge of the universe.

DeviTheGaelet · 24/02/2017 19:39

Hi pub.....
Who's in?

CharlieSierra · 24/02/2017 20:17

Prawn FairyFlaps from the Terfy thread is coming too.

How on earth were there more bannings? Whatever for?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 25/02/2017 23:42

That's fabulous. I'll PM her. Ooh, I'm getting excited about this. I had such a good time last summer, though this is smaller it'll still be good. Smile

DeviTheGaelet · 26/02/2017 09:47

I put a thread in site stuff about the board, would like others views

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 26/02/2017 16:38

I strongly oppose the idea of having a trans board. Trans ideology is impacting women on an almost daily basis and it's naturally popping up all over MN. And every thread more posters cotton on to the threat posed to women and girls. Most women assume that transwomen suffer terribly from dysphoria, are gay and have (or are waiting for) all the surgery. They hear the truth and light dawns. I know because this happened to me, and I see it happening to new posters all the time. Hide trans issues as a subset of Feminism (why?) and far fewer people will be exposed.

DeviTheGaelet · 26/02/2017 18:11

prawn because trans threads are currently massively dominating FWR and it's doing my head in as there is other feminism stuff to discuss. Loads of people have FWR hidden anyway so I'm not sure your point is that valid.
I'm gender critical as I'm sure you know but I'm finding it a bit frustrating. And if I'm finding it frustrating then I'm sure there are others with less gender critical views finding it infuriating. It's a shame because there are not many places like MN feminist board out there.
But I'm not the thread police and am just one poster so never mind.

DJBaggySmalls · 26/02/2017 18:15

This pub. Its colour scheme is traditional green and purple,. right? not pink? Otherwise I'm in the wrong place.

CharlieSierra · 26/02/2017 18:25

I not in favour of a trans board either. There are a lot of threads about it in FWR at the moment, understandably as its a massive issue for women's rights; I don't think that threads about other things turn into threads about trans issues though, so there should be no reason not to start them if you want to discuss something. Unless you are finding otherwise? If you mean that threads about other subjects aren't tending to gain as much traction, well I guess that people talk about the things which interest or concern them more.

venusinscorpio · 27/02/2017 01:38

Devi I do understand your frustration but I feel the transagenda is one of the most threatening things for women in a long time. I am very opposed to the idea of a trans thread where people can block it out and ignore it.

venusinscorpio · 27/02/2017 01:39

*trans board

Polidori · 28/02/2017 20:16

Evening. Doombar please. Are you doing food?
